Yea if he can turn Fellaini into a completely different player and help Valencia rediscover his form, than there is hope for Rojo, and others too.
An interesting but overlooked point about Mourinho. More than anything else IMHO what separates Mourinho from most other managers is that he knows how to get the most of out the players that he has. Yes, does everything else very well...but he really knows how to get players to play to the best of their ability. For the first time since Ferguson since stepped down we're in very, very good hands.
He did not turn Fellaini around, he just give him a very limited very defined role. For a limited player that does not confuses Fellaini and he can understand what is asked of him.
That's the best part of it for me. He's done exactly that, and at the same time made Fellaini an effective player for the team and the way Mou want to play. It seems simple, but I think it's harder than it seems. Mou has previously talked about how he's spent alot of time making instructions for players short and precise. He doesn't do long team meetings with lots of details. He identifies the most important challenges for a player going into a game, and is able to communicate the instructions in a simple manner. We're only 3 games in, and the games has suited Fellaini. I'm excited to see if Mou can get even more out of him - at least the synergi of having Fellaini, Pogba, Ibra and Bailly on attacking set pieces. One more aspect is the space between Fellaini/Pogba and defence that has not been protected well so far, and I'm excited to see how Mou's planned the midfield against City - who knows how to use exactly that space to cause trouble. He knows Pep well enough, so I'm pretty sure the instructions are spot on - whoever is picked needs to step up in that game.
Yeah, we have some decent threats on set pieces now but ********ing need someone to consistently put in good deliveries. That's been a struggle with Mata and Rooney both failing.
Last season? Jose observed the meltdown at Old Trafford, plotted his release from Chelsea and -- as we all know now -- Jose got the job of Old Trafford that he wanted when he left Real Madrid several seasons previously. Anyone who believes that Jose Mourinho somehow just lost his mind last season doesn't understand his Machiavellian nature.
So, is Piggy just going to rot in our reserves for the next 6 months? Nope, not about they money. Not that guy.
I love how he's trying to spin it as an "undying love" for United. Nah bro. No one wanted to pay you in Europe. If he really wanted to play football somewhere, I'm sure United would happily negotiate a buyout and get him the ******** out of here as a free agent, which would let him join a team immediately. Expect to hear more of this shit in the next day or so with his obedient German press doing his bidding. He in fact did mention MLS in today's press cconference.
Inter are trying to get Darmian on loan. http://www.gazzettaworld.com/news/transfer-market/inter-push-manchester-united-darmian/
Still hopes he makes thru this window as a United player. As good as Valencia as been so far, the odds are very good that Darmian will get his fair share of chances and we'll find out whether he has a future with the club. It appears a good bet that Fabinho will stay with Monaco, so Jose can always turn to him be it in January or next summer if Darmian doesn't work out. Just want an opportunity to see the real Darmian at United.
It's impossible to know the true mind of another man's motivations, but Bastian has done more than enough to earn the benefit of the doubt. I trust Mourinho's judgment on player selection whatever it may be but based on what we've seen of Schweinsteiger and Fellaini over the last three seasons, there's no question in my mind at all that a fit Schweinsteiger offers United far more on the pitch than Fellaini. My hunch is that Bastian wants to play and he can't be blamed for resisting being kicked to the trash. But if Mourinho wants Schweinsteiger gone, fine with me. We finally have a manager who knows what he's doing.
The cat and mouse game between Schweinsteiger and United/Mourinho is still very much on as Duncan Castles is indicating now that Schweini has been offered to Sporting on a free transfer... http://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/...r-united-offer-bastian-schweinsteiger-8735077
Again, I just want to see us end this distraction. I think I saw somewhere that the remainder sum of his salary is around 15 million pounds over the next 2 years. I'd happily give him 5 to just ******** off, maybe consider leaking it to Castles to try and let everyone know we made a good faith effort and the ball is in his court. If he wants to be Winston Bogarde, it's perfectly fine. That is his right, we offered him that money.
I hope that after the window is officially closed, trying to negotiate some kind of settlement with Schweinsteiger is the next move. I still think that this should have been the way they should have gone a long time ago, but it's clear they are hoping (against hope) that this situation will take care of itself. It will not as Schweinsteiger doesn't appear to be bluffing and is digging his heels as his recent comments have clearly indicated. The club have created this when they offered that contract to him and it's only normal that Schweinsteiger chooses to not just away from it. He's 32, not 26 and it would just be stupid on his part to leave that kind of money on the table. As soon as Thursday (after the window is closed), Woodward needs to take steps in getting together with Schweini's people, bite the bullet and hammer out some type of deal. Simple really and Schweinsteiger has all but indicated he'd be eager to accept that kind of solution when speaking about overseas possibilities, such as MLS...
Jose should have Jones finish Bastian's career in training. Should have him do the same to Rooney as well.

Felliani in the middle and rooney as the 10 is not sustainable. if felliaini stays in then that has to mean Mou has found a way to dispose of rooney. the two areas of the field should be linked and neither has the compunction to be able to do it. one must go.
