agreed but they arent willing to pay an extra couple of million for a Mustafi, there is no way they are bidding 40 million for Jimenez. I just cant see it. Thats not what this club does.
I think you're right about us just trying to scare Valencia which they've countered with there's interest from Liverpool. This club is completely handicapped during the transfer window. I'm convinced every day there are like 10 minute talks that consist of us saying "still not keen on 20m pounds?" and them saying "no!" and then we're like "meh, we'll try tomorrow."
The market has changed and these games don't work anymore. English teams and even more so Arsenal have tons of money. Valencia has little to no incentive to sell cheap.
The problem isn't Valencia and that's clear. I'd demand 30m pounds for a CB international that's only 24 and can be your future CB for the next 5-8 years. The problem is we are ********ing cheap.
Joke team this is Can't see anyone coming. Less than 2 weeks left Wenger is gonna lose some players next season if he stays. Such a shit manager and wasteman If he signs a new deal I hope the fans revolt
I can't even fathom this. If it happens, I would seriously consider taking a break from the club until he's gone. The whole situation is beyond absurd at this point.
IDK - we haggle for players we like but don't love. We've paid up for players that we've loved. If true, means any hope of a striker signing is dead. #RIPMadness.
America sends its buttholes to DC. Ergo, Maryland and Virginia are the colon. Alabama and Mississippi are the appendix: they do nothing useful, and should probably be removed just to be safe
I honestly doubt we're going after Gimenez. Completely agree that it's a scare tactic that won't work. It just doesn't make sense. Why in the world would Arsenal go after someone worth $40 mill, when they won't even push harder for someone worth $30 mill? Makes no sense. However, nothing makes sense with this club anymore aside from injuries, tactical unawareness, and unmet expectations.
I disagree. I think we sign 2 players before the end of the window. But would that change my opinion about the direction of this club? Nope. Embarrassing lack of planning again + out of touch manager. This is the window you use to show Ozil that he should sign a new long term contract. He would be crazy to do that now.
There were reports out there that a new deal was offered to him before the season began but he surprisingly said no, he wanted to wait to see what happens this season. That's what the reports said at least. Point being, the club could definitely make him another contract offer, sadly. And it wouldn't surprise me at all if that's exactly what they do.
I have a throry. Wenger valuates Mustafi substiantially lower than do Valencia. They wont break, so if he can get Giminez for what he thinks he is worth he willl shell out the cash.
Give up your season tickets Stop posting Stop buying Put your money where your mouths are ...Pansies won't actually do it though
Idk - we used to say that Wenger didn't bid on players, and the purported 25 million bid for Mustafi is twice our record for a defender. Gimenez is 21 and good now. If Wenger rates him highly, I can see him spending that kind of money on someone who'll be a fixture for a decade. I think we have enough evidence to suggest that Wenger is willing to spend a lot for players he really wants.
If I lived in London, easily done. Already don't spend money on new kits every year as I think that's a sham.
official http://www.lcfc.com/news/article/20...city-magician-signs-new-contract-3255730.aspx The only signing AFC will make this year/next is extending AW's contract. If this really was his last campaign you'd think he do a Fergie and bring in reinforcements and have a last go at it. He's not going anywhere. Lastly, if AFC don't challenge on all fronts this year don't be surprised if we start hearing Alexis and Ozil wanting out. They want to win and understand they wouldn't mind a change of scenery.
So that is TWO players (two, mind you) from mighty Leicester City who have either 1) used interest from Arsenal to drive up wages on a new contract with LC or 2) simply decided they didn't want to come to Arsenal and would rather stay with a team that has a reasonable likelihood of being relegated in the next 2-3 years. We're basically a half step above Liverpool, at this point. This is not a "big" club.
I dont believe Arsenal were ever interested in Mahrez. I think Mahrez used us to get paid more than Vardy. Fair play to him.
