According to Sport1 Pulisic is considering a move away from Dortmund. Probably on loan. It says he was disappointed that he was not included in the squad for the Super Cup.

More depth at the attacking positions this season. And a true test for him to crack the XI. One game shouldn't cause a panic though. Not to devalue a game against Bayern but still preseason-ish.

That being said should Pulisic only make the bench a few times come winter.... it might be best to seek a loan. As USA fans we are biased, but I think he showed he can play at a club like Dortmund. The next stage for Pulisic is to become a starter. A lot more options this season for Dortmund in the attack.

edit: I'm sure the papers will link him with Liverpool because of Klopp.

If he doesn't want to stay and try and fight for a spot, loan him to Darmstadt or Ingolstadt. The experience of a relegation battle could be good for him.

I would imagine he wants to put himself in the best possible position to get consistent call-ups from the NT and to ensure that he gets a spot in Russia. To do so he needs to be playing consistent senior team minutes somewhere. While I wish that would be @ Dortmund it doesn't appear like there's a reasonable path to consistent playing time unless there's some serious attrition injury-wise (especially when Reus comes back). I'm glad that he's hungry for senior team football - we'll see what BVB does. I think he could be in the XI for 12 or 13 different Bundes teams.

We need to tone down our expectations of him over the next few years. If he goes out on loan I care more about the style of play than if they are in a relegation battle.

It'd be a short drive but, do the Ruhr derby rivals even make these sort of deals with each other?

It seems like, if he goes, Schalke would want a buy option included.

Dear God. Schalke would truly become Schalkamerica (Pulisic, Wright, Taitague [probably], McKennie [probably]).

Is that a cheeky stab at Schalke, or are you serious about Goretzka?

Good that pulisic realizes u19 is not the way to go. I'd say he should go to hertha or hamburger or another upper mid table to CL team

I hope this isn't true. So far it seems Puli and BVB have been on the same page at every step. To have a kid thriving at a club like BVB, one of the best talent developers in the world, presents a real opportunity. It's best if Dortmund and Pulisic can remain in lockstep.

With that said, it's certainly reasonable that Christian would seek another option if he's been told he's not in the plans for this season. He's thrived at every level thus far and feels he's ready.

I don't think a loan or staying represent bad options; I just hope that it's not contentious, and that the two parties are on the same page. I want BVB to continue to have a stake in Christian's development because they're so darn good at it.

I look at it this way. Dortmund spent money on schurrle, gotze, dembele, and Mor. Pulisic is 17, so they might have the mind set that they'll play their big signings while Pulisic waits in the background for his turn. The thing is, if they all have good season's then Pulisic will have to wait another year or until Bayern buys Dembele. also Reus will be returning. Schalke definitely makes sense for a transfer

Only Libuda and Anderbruegge were youth products. Moeller's was a big "******** you" to BvB FO. Lehmann had failed in Italy and returned to Germany and Freund was originally from East Germany so the rivalry thing wasn't anything to him.

I think we can forget CP going there.

BvB will prefer to keep him at home. Besides who is to say he will get starting minutes and be a regular at another club?

No it wasn't, actually - that was my mistake.

A loan is one thing. Going to Schalke is something entirely different. I'd be kind of surprised a loan takes place.

He will be able 18 next month and 19 around the start of next season. I think it would be more pressure to do something next year if he doesn't play much this year, opposed to playing 20 odd matches for another BL team this year

Honestly love this from CP. He needs minutes, these experiences at this age could make you into world class. Sink or swim time, as an elite prospect especially as an 18 year old

Is this a reputable source? I mean it is one thing that he was disappointed...duh...probably be disappointed not to start in a CL final as well. What has Dortmund said about it?

Is that enough for him to want away from where his dad and cousin are playing, and the club that his family carefully selected as the right "next" step?

Or is this a media outlet taking 1+1 and getting 3?

At this point in time I believe he would do well to trust Dortmund. They have done well by him thus far. If Tuchel has him in the plans for this year and wants him close to home, I hope he stays. Dortmund by all appearances is a top flight organization, there are not many better places to be than where he is now.

As far as I'm aware, no, it is not a reputable source.

I actually think he's more immune to style differences than about any player we've ever had. He's a fast, technical attacker who can play anywhere across the front line behind the 9 who works back on defense. So I care more about the environment/opportunity.
