We were too eager to sit deep and absorb pressure. Neuer had to pull off a few saves to keep us in the game. Goals came from a counter and a set piece, which I guess is nice, but the win was basically the difference between Neuer and Burki.

    Still, trophy shiny.

I think this is a make or break year for Thiago. The talent is there but he can't play like it's a pick up game when he's being pressured by 2 or 3 players just right outside our box. He has to show more consistency and better decision making, but if he hasn't made any progress by year end, then it's time to look for a replacement.

I could be wrong but Sanches is still not that tactically sharp. He still chases balls too much instead of moving into a better position. Such a talent though but I expect a learning curve from him with a lot of bright moments. Think he'll do well as a super sub for this year.

1st of all tx a lot to my friend @Dr.Phil 4 opening the game thread, I had no time and he made a good work, and we won so bro why dont u open every single game thread instead of me lol ?- :)
Tx to @Matakos too to put our starting 11 before of me, u brought us lucky bro!!!!!
About the game of course we couldnt pretend to dominate cause Dortmund was much fit than us, their players more rested, our ones ended up their holydays a few days ago, anyway they make a great 1st half but the biggest chance was ours with Vidal, then in the zweite Halbzeit things got better and with Arturo Vidal and Thomas Müller wir machen alles klar!!!!!!!!
So 1st game of the season and 1st trophy, do u guys remember our last victory in DFB Supercup? It was 2012 and what happened in 2013?- :)

3 starters in Robben, Costa and Boateng are still injured. Therefore, yes this was the strongest lineup Bayern could have had.

I would start Kimmich over Alonso. He and Thiago in midfield are a disaster, dortmund was completely dominating the mid. Don't know if Kimmich can grow into the role, but I'd like to give him the chance. Much better upside for the end of the season.

Lahm also look v bad defensively today. He was a major reason for most of tgeir chances. Next summer the #1 priority is getting a top classs RWB

Or, now that Pep's gone and Martinez is back, try Martinez at 6?

Lahm was our team's best and most consistent player from February to May of 2016. I see no reason to doubt him whatsoever. Trying to look for a downward trend based on a glorified pre-season game would be hysteric. Let's not do that okay?

The season is yet to start, players taking their time to get into groove after a major summer tournament is normal.
Overall I'm glad that we have an experienced player in Alonso AND two very talented youngsters in Kimmich and Renato. If Carlo rotates them, all three will have a major contribution to make.

Agreed, a top class RB and a talented winger / attacking all rounder should be the priority for next season.

Sincerely I consider Javi Martinez too great als number 4-6-8 to play him als CB. This is the reason I dont trust the FO cause they are not looking for a new one while apart Boa and Hummels we have only Badi always injured. Anyway I am not Rummenigge so ok.

You could berth a freight liner or park an airbus in that gap between Lahm and Hummels. It was insanity

well I think Bernat is pretty meh, Xabi's time is done and Thiago is terrible. Only one that should stay is Martinez. So what can you do.:p

nothing to do with them being Spanish that's just a coincidence. I also think Ribery is basically done, hasn't played well in awhile.

LOL, what is up with the exaggeration, I'll call out any player no matter where they come from if I think they are not good enough. I got the same type of responses as now when I said before and during the Euros that Draxler is inconsistent and overrated and he proved that at the Euros. You don't have to agree with me and that's perfectly fine.

Ok whatever you like, since your post makes no sense as none of the players I called out are new players, they've been playing for awhile at Bayern. How do you know what I think of the entire team since I joined this forum basically at the end of last season. Anyways pointless discussion, I'm moving on.

Not sure if the comments regarding Spanish players was sarcastic but I just wanted to point out that Javi was purchased by Jupp, not Pep.
