Only 2 of those 3 are on the trip to the States, though.

I'm pretty sure this Coquelin at center half chatter is nothing.

    almost! :D
precisely. we need to find out what holding and chambers can do, especially if wenger rates holding enough to let hayden go. we should also find out how well bielik can do when he is not being overwhelmed as he was in the sole appearance last year.
to be honest, it's NOT a bad thing. it's no secret to anyone - and hopefully not to coquelin himself - that xhaka was brought in to be a starter, ramsey is ridiculously (and thankfully) durable, and we have all those signings like cazorla and wilshere coming back alongside elneny. playing time is going to be lacking, at best. we already know coquelin can fill in as an emergency right-back, if he is going to be 2nd to xhaka, it does not hurt to have him be able to fill in at centreback especially since we have to plan on debuchy being gone. at this point . . . i'm a little more comfortable with coquelin (with practice) at centreback than bielik (who might come good eventually even if, as mentioned above, i'd like to see him play in preseason).

He seems less unreliable than some others. I wish he hadn't made that madness comment though.

    Coq is how tall?

Furthermore, playing the midfielder whose type we only have one of outside his natural position at CB is stupidity. Seems very Wenger-like and probably is true though so...

he is unlikely to start over xhaka/ramsey and, well, wenger and rotation don't mix.

Im confident he wont be used in CB position, Wenger can use Chambers or Holding before him, plus Coquelin isnt exactly a flawless tackler of the ball, he had the most league yellow cards out of our squad last season, he can sometimes make impetuous decisions and we dont need that from centre backs. Conclusion - Coq to stay in the midfield.

Coq is just making up numbers for training, since there are only a couple of recognized CBs on tour. Apparently it hasn't been uncommon for Bould to do the same thing for training, if that tells you anything.

Here's a logical prediction from one of the more even-keeled Arsenal supporters on Twitter (@Arsestat_)

Not sure what he qualifies as "proper" vs "decent," but my guess based on his other tweets are:

    proper CF = Griezmann level
    decent CF = Lacazette level

5-10...not tall, he's about the same size as mascherano I think. It's possible he could be a good fit, but I don't see it really his discipline is more a worry, but no more than gabby I suppose.

Wenger did say we want to buy an 'experienced' center half. Bouldie is definitely that.

    Sign him up!

I think we will get Mahrez and a CB (Moustafi or Schar).

    You think that's enough?

I think in addition to a CB, we need a striker.

Are you kidding? At this point I'd be thrilled if we got Mahrez and Moustafi.

If we can pick up a serviceable one (a la Jese) that will be fine. I can't think of any top CF's available.
I will be shocked if we get Lacazette.

Ya, he's been great for them. A great article talking about how his tackle on Bendtner in the CL made his career at barca at CB.

Some great quotes...maybe Coq can take some inspiration and take this opportunity?

To think, if Bendtner wasn't such a donkey mascherano would have been available the next summer ;)

So if they play 11 v 11 and Coquelin fills in at CB why do people assume Holding, Chambers, Bielik aren't being used at CB as well?

Are people making that assumption? I haven't seen it anywhere. I'm sure they do on the training ground, considering the top 3 CBs are our club are all unavailable.
