I was disappointed with Pogba's role more than the player. Finals and tournaments like this are beautiful events to showcase the best players have to offer. Deschamps deprived us fans of that. It's a fireable offense.
I honestly didn't even notice him on the pitch until they showed him on screen angrily screaming at his team mate(Matuidi I believe) to do better after Eder scored his golazo. I fully agree.
With CR7 out and Bale coming back late from a long Euro campaign, I hope James, Isco, and Morata are ready to carry the load for the next few weeks. We're going to need them.
Pogba playing as some weird conservative deeplying midfielder isn't worth 25m euros let alone 100m. The joke in the Juve fan base is that Deschamps, a Juventino himself, basically used Pogba in a way that brought out his worst attributes while negating his best as a way of keeping him at Juventus. It's a joke, but there is some really strange insight into that.
Lmao... son... I'm sure someone else has told u by now, but he was playing Kante's role which is just an amazingly terrible coaching decision, relax
He has a point though, Pogba was below average the entire tournament, no matter where he played. He was playing in Kante's spot but he didn't have his role, Matuidi and Sissoko did most of the defensive work while he was just useless.
Still the coach's fault man. Did you notice how Payet sucked hard the past 2 matches? Also on the coach. He legit sacrificed Payet for that scrub who got Newcastle relegated. Guy needs to be fired tomorrow haha. I'd argue I'm the first advocate of us buying Pogba lol, but at this point I would rather us go for Griezmann. Those bustas don't ever do business with us like ever though right?
Yup, everything is on the coach these days. Last i heard Messi didn't pay his taxes because of his coach.
Pogba is defensively strong when tracking back with his long strides which helps prevent counterattacks. Playing his a DM was also a horrible decision in that it forces him to defense players coming at him which he isn't good enough at doing. Kante is a great CDM in part because the minute the ball is turned over he instinctively knows when to counterpress or quickly close down in front of him. Imagine playing Kante near the forwards and then asking him to turn his back and rush toward his own net in order to cover space. These instructions negate what he does best. What makes this so perplexing is that when Kante and Pogba played together this tournament where both were able to play in their preferred role, they both looked very good. Pogba played in the position he does at Juve only vs Switzerland. Literally night and day. Again, as a Juventus supporter, Pogba playing as a static CDM is a big big big big NO NO.
To be honest, that scrub who got Newcastle relegated was by far their best player. Payet was just out of it. He player on the left side, which is normally a fantastic position for him. If Gignac scored that ball in the end, no one would be talking about Sissoko. They would probably say it was a genius move by Deschamps. Thankfully, Eder ruined the party!
Agreed, he was great against Switzerland in a position that suits him. Deschamps got the best out of Griezmann with his change of formation, but it negatively impacted Pogba and Payet.
No idea why deschamps didn't shift matuidi, to RM, and play pogba ahead of kante. Who cares if he is left footed.
Funny how media tried to say that james and isco were enemies, and suggest if isco was happy because the injured of james.... was one of the few teammates that congratulate him
I've mentioned on here seeing a picture published on some small Madrid site of the 2 of them at a club a few months ago in Madrid. I'll try to see if I can pull it up again. Media just likes to make stuff up.
