Has Osorio learned from the 7-0? This remains to be seen. Until we face another team that challenges us, it might be rinse and repeat. If his game plan and philosophy worked up until the Chile game, then it proved to be something like 95% effective.
Just like Messi.. All the pressure is put on him.. it must be tough to deal with all that.. I knew Messi was gonna miss that penalty. But it's not all his fault.. Higuian missed easy chances three finals in a row, but yet everyone puts the blame on Messi. Aguero also missed chances.. But Messi will be back, I don't think he's gonna completely retire from Argentina.. maybe just take a Long Break
The US was runner up without playing 15 moleros..Plus is concacrap tourney. I think we've played Argentina on Moleros what? once in the last 10 years.?Don't remember having played against Chile on molero dates. Not talking about prep games for tourneys, which is also when Mexico plays in Europe for the most part. I 'm talking about the contract for moleros with SUM. How has that helped Mexico?. The results on WC have not been any different..El TRI is a big marketing machine, nothing more. Why don't they play these moleros in Mexico?
Think about this.Half the team plays in Europe. But the other half plays in liga MX. It would be beneficial to exposed them to better competition for sure.
The biggest and most important question is, have the players learned from the 7-0? Again, you don't cough up 7 goals in a quarter-final because of rotations.
Good. No one here has the answers Sway. No one. But I will say that the only way to see change is to hit the FMF where it hurts. Revenue. Losing 80,000+ ticket sales is a start. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. This is a business & is being operated like one. What people don't realize is we vote for this sh*t show with our dollars. If we don't like the product then don't buy it. Simple as that. But unfortunately Mexicans aren't that bright. We'll still buy the jerseys and pay to go see them play. Watch them on TV etc. I am not excluded from these habits either. They are hard to break. If we weren't selling out partidos moleros then there wouldn't be any. Things will not change until we stop throwing cash at this junk food product.
They got fourth,, not runner up. And since the WC, We played Chile, Paraguay, Ecuador Argentina on SUM contract dates. (moleros) Im not counting Chile before the Copa America ( although it was still SUM) Since it was Prep for a major Tournament.. playing in the US = better opposition.
Kind of an unfair point imo. I know where you're going, but a lot of fans aren't as invested as you or I. I personally know a lot of Mexicans that go to games just to hang out and have a good time. It's a way to "get away" while watching a team they like. But after that, they're not watching highlight tapes on YouTube or going on football forums...
lol I was thinking of the one we went to in Pasadena, The US has won the tourney also. Sin moleros. And the bottom line is Mexico has not done ant better at the WC. That should be the goal.
That has nothing to do with what I said. Your casual fans will buy merchandise, go to the games, & put on Univision to watch the games. They might not even know who's on the field or what team they play for. It doesn't matter. Their money is already FMF's by that point.
That last sentence was an extension of "they aren't as invested as you or I." Not directly related to FMF.
The rage that goes though me stuck watching a game in a room full of causals. Everytime I wish a someone would just nuke the house and take us all out.
Son, at my age that kind of info is not important enough to store in my brain..that space is reserved for important stuff like: where are my keys, or where did I leave my beer...not who won a concachafa tourney or when.
So I was checking the qualifiers and everybody but CONCACAF has activity in October. The rivals Mexico will have the worst opposition open for that game (they already announce they will be playing in Nashville) since it will probably have to be an team already eliminated or a CONCACAF team. EDIT: OFC is also off so maybe will play New Zealand.
Assuming the confeds draw is like last time would it be something like this? France/Portugal Mexico Russia Australia Germany Chile African team New Zealand (or other Oceania team)
So this made me look at the wiki page for the confed cup. Aside from France, we're the only ones who have previously won it.
