Tsunami posted this in the Spirit forum as there is a cute article on Foudy and some awesome surfer chick teaching eachother their respective sports.

There is also an article in which Lorrie Fair and Heather Mitts discuss their favorite Philly places to eat and do things.

Finally is something Tsunami missed - they have Kylie Bivens in the "what's my sport" page. One of them even guessed right - wonder if they are a secret WUSA fan, recognized her and didn't say anything so they'd sound real smart? LOL!

Got mine in the mail today, was surprised to see all that magiclamp mentioned. BUT, as usual, nothing on the COMPETITIVE aspect of the league! There was a 1/4 page box giving a quick summary on a couple of items of the season. That's the sum of WUSA coverage for the last 5 or 6 issues...

And to show just how stupid and out-of-touch they are, here's a beaut - they had some dumb bar featuring hairstyles through the decades in women's athletics. One picture was of the back of Sissi's head with the caption that Sissi shaved her head before the 1999 World Cup. What exactly was shaved in her head?

    "C-Rays"

Yeah, that was really before the 99 World Cup morons

I do not have my issue here at work, but I thought that the back of her head was shaved to show the Brazilian flag on the left and the US flag on the right...

That was in there too, but the C-Rays part should have given away the timeframe to anyone who had a clue...

This issue just ended up in the trash. As a staunch feminist I was appauled at the pic of Julie in a bikini with her surfer friend and the pic of Kylie in a sports bra and spandex shorts. THAT IS NOT RIGHT!!!

Oh and then to top it off there was a pic of Mia in this issue as well. QUIT PIMPING HER DAMNIT!!!!!

Take a look at the 2001 doohicky. There is a pic of Missy Giove in there in her Volvo/Cannondale uniform. She hasn't raced for them for several years. And that's an old pic. Volvo/Cannondale abandoned that color scheme and switched to a blue/white scheme. Who is she with now...Maxxis or Foes or some small company. Jeez I'm suprised she is not racing for that Luna Bar team yet .

    Fear's wild emotions.............

Is Fear being sarcastic? Did he really throw his issue away because it featured Foudy and Bivens half-naked?

    Surely, SURELY you jest?!?!?

You neglected to mention that they referred to the WUSA MVP as Marinette "Pinchon." And of course their one photo was of Mia.

That's exactly what I was wondering. Middle aged men who focus on womens sports, and converse online with a mostly teenage female audience get upset at Womens magazines feature pictures of women athletes in beachwear?!?

Hey, next time... just forward it to me instead of throwing it away.
