So now we are also looking into Unai Emery, who has done some great things with Sevilla.

Hopefully we can get this wrapped up quickly so that the new manager has more than enough time to start figuring out what he wants to do this transfer window for us.

Like I said before, it was stupid to renew Blanc so early on. But it is what it is, at least we are looking into getting someone new and that makes me very happy. I highly doubt Blanc will be here next season. It would be so ridiculous for the club to keep him after so obviously looking into replacing him.

I'm annoyed that United is the team he's going to. I don't like them. I don't strongly dislike them or anything, but they don't deserve him. And if he's going to be in Europe, a player like him should be in the CL.

I still want him to do well wherever he goes, but I'm not sure if I want United to win anything. Probably not, if I'm being honest! Maybe if he's only there one year, then seeing him win the EPL would be nice. Ok I guess I'm undecided. :D

Why not go for Tottenham? In the CL and a pretty good team

OT. Didn't know he was starting a clothing line in Paris today/tomorrow. Hope for his sake that it's better than his own fashion :p

I doubt they could afford his wages. People like to make comments about us, but if we are being honest, top players have no reason to go to United these days other than a monetary incentive. They can afford to pay Ibra a lot, I'm not sure if Spurs can.

And sure, United have Mourinho and "history" ( ), but it's been a circus over there ever since SAF left.

I know they are old but can anyone see Ribery/Robben going to PSG? Robben is a game changer, think would do well at PSG and might be solid for the price

I can't see Ribery going to PSG nor do I want him here if we're being honest. I have mixed feelings about Robben. He is a spectacular player (though the diving drives me insane, but he used to be much worse), but the age thing is hard to get past. We need to be building a strong team to keep progressing. I guess it really depends on the details and who else we'd be bringing in. But yeah, he is a really amazing player, truly a game changer.

One ridiculous rumor I saw today was RVP. That's a definite fuck no. ;)

Ribery seems to be past his 'sell by' date, the freshness is gone. Same to a lesser degree with Robben and he seems a duplicate to Di Maria. Reality may be to focus on a new high quality manager and let him have a year to bring in 'his' guys for how he wants to play. A rebuilding year may be required for a new coach. Even with just the current squad UCL qualification again next year should be a given.

Shore up some depth and get some more young guys to build with and make the big moves later anticipating a UCL run in 2018, the continuity of domestic success is probably assured unless they really screw up on the coach selection.

Unfortunate that it may be at least that much of a long term project but I think it really is, just inserting a CR7, Messi, or Suarez to try and fill Ibra's spot probably isn't going farther than the last few years. It takes a complete squad with depth for suspensions and injuries and no weak links along with not just a good but the 'right' coach -- even then look at Barca and Bayern not in the final this year.

The more I think about Emery, the more excited I get. Yes, Simeone is the bigger star and has accomplished so much more, so of course it's hard for him not to be #1 on my list. But in terms of playing style, Emery is much more suited to our game than Simeone.

Above all, I'm so happy that Blanc is practically on his way out.

We are at the end of a cycle with the departure of Ibra and players like Motta and Maxwell - if he extends his contract - who are getting old. It's a very good decision to start a new cycle with a new coach since Blanc failed hard in his management of Aurier and his 3-5-2 among other things when it mattered the most : during the CL. He can break any record he wants in L1, win 150 Trophées des Champions if he wants, I don't think "dream bigger" stands for that. We could also argue about how fared the signings he took part into.

Good riddance. I was kind of angry when he said last year, aiming at Sirigu that "some players will leave even if they don't know it yet". A taste of your own medicine. He would be more likeable if you were feeling that he's a young coach that is willing to improve but it's the opposite : he's known for not putting hard work as a coach and weak in his mental approach of games which showed multiple times in the CL. More time to become a poor man's Tiger Woods, I guess.

With the incoming new manager at Brazil it sounds like Silva and Luiz will likely be back 'in'. Good news for them -- not great news for PSG re. absences and potential injuries.

Yes it's really a double edged sword. DL is especially injury prone, so it's a concern, but we have Marquinhos who I think will become our starter. This past season was not bad at all for T.Silva in terms of injuries, but he's had some seasons where it's been a bit of a concern such as the previous season.

That being said, it's hard not to want TS to get selected since he does so much for us that he deserves to be rewarded on all levels. It's just not right for a player like him to not be selected to the NT and he is especially likable, so I want to see him excel in general. Of course, if he does get injured, I'll be the first one cursing our luck. :D I think the main thing is that he is rested enough throughout the summer and the season since he plays so many games all year and also that he doesn't get played while injured (which has happened in the past to some of our players with their NTs) because that's just inexcusable. He has been pre-selectioned for the Olympic games.

Anyway, for some other exciting news, apparently we have signed Giovani Lo Celso and it should be official relatively soon. He arrived on Sunday and he's passing his medical today. But he's being loaned back to his club for six months. Apparently he's an excellent young talent with a lot of potential, but I've never seen him play, so I have no idea. Does anyone have any insight into him?

52 m offer from West Ham for Lacazette and yet PSG is the problem lol. No the problem is middling EPL teams with that much money to spend.

Most expensive 3-5-2 in history, but whatever, no amount is too much to get rid of that incompetent fraud. ;)
