tragedy in Orlando committed against gay community

a moment of silence before the game to reflect on said tragedy

tens of thousands of people screaming "faggt" at the opposing keeper when he kicks the ball

Context matters though, this is the best way I can explain it...

As @brahmafutbol said on Twitter "embrace diversity". I find it amusing he doesn't seem too offended by the chant to not attend.

This tournament has had some fun games and has been a great break from the failed Dynamo season, yet we're discussing who has the crappiest fans and if a liberal former poster should be offended by fans yelling "********" at the goalkeeper.

Must be a slow work day.......

Both Copa America Centenario, and the Euros have been surprisingly competitive. It has been entertaining.

Did anyone watch the master class that Italy put on in defensive shape, and movement off of the ball yesterday?

Dude, it was incredible last night. Good level of football on display, the Venezuelan keeper playing his ass off and 67,000 people exploding out of their seats with that Tecatito goal. We were behind that goal in the gol was that much better in person. He slalomed through 5-6 defenders before beating the keeper. If his last name was Messi the entire world would be talking about it today. The goal was that good.

Look where he started his run from:

I could see Tecatito getting frustrated, and figured something big was coming from him.

Why isn't everyone all over the USOC match tomorrow night???!

And I didn't even post the former poster with Columbian flags and complaints about METRO not running right (complaints by liberals about taxpayer-subsidized mass transit stranding or delaying them always makes me smile at their misfortune)

Dunga has been fired again. Likely well deserved after poor WCQ, and group stage exit in this tournament.

He was quick to criticize the MLS for Kaka's form and put together a B team for the Copa. Not sure what he was expecting. Most teams took the tournament seriously. Hope they had fun beating up on Haiti.

Tecatito's goal was crazy. Reminded me of Bruin's glory days. :whistling: A few minutes before Chicharito deserved a yellow card for that odd tackle flop in the box. The way he threw himself into the defender was awkward to say the least. Venezuela's goal was pretty nice too.

Where is the best place to watch the game Thursday? Lucky's? Mezzanine? Went to the game in Philly but watched Costa Rica at Richmond Arms and it was subdued...

Also, there is way more pressing and a much higher tempo here than at the Euros, but both have been great so far. Oh yeah, Pekerman is still a terrible coach even if things worked out better for him (unless he was actually trying to avoid Argentina)

Panama just made things interesting. Although they have to win to advance, I'm not sure they have 2 more goals in them in 11min.

I greatly enjoyed Panama losing. I can't stand their shenanigans in the Hex. They are one of them more anti-football teams in the Americas.

I'm not a fan of Panama either but I was rooting for CONCACAF. I thought it would be damn funny if CONCACAF won 3 of 4 groups. South America is pretty full of themselves when it comes to soccer.

Had you switched groups with Haiti and Costa Rica they may have advanced too.....I think they would have matched up with against Peru and Ecuador.

O'well we won 2 out of 4 groups.

I'm not super excited to watch Peru v Colombia, but the othr 3 matches look pretty exciting. I'll be rooting for Cinderella Venezuela. The Mexico v Chile match is going to be hard fought, it think it's going to be pretty even. The media is putting the US a the favorite but Ecuador scored against Brazil (only to have it disallowed) and really held their own. They won't be a push over.

I would love nothing more than to have a chance to watch the USMNT at NRG for the semifinals of the Copa America.

we tried, but our RB (he's really a CB and we need to find his replacement inmediately as his age is starting to show, especially against speedy teams like Chile) got hugely exposed, and the forward tandem of Tejada and Nurse should not have started, as they're too slow. big difference when arroyo and torres were subbed in as forwads. Learning experience for coach and team.

Agree with d4ever. I support Concacaf teams or even the little guys.

Fully understand Hefts view. Now, I have a funny story which improved my perception of Panamanian players.

At a game against a Panama team at Robertson I sat behind their bench and harassed the players throughout the game. I kept laughing at a guy who kept diving and crying to the ref. At the end one of the players came to me a shook my hand. We chatted for a few seconds He was a nice guy. I wasn't swearing at them or yelling obscenities but I was mocking them. I even made them laugh a few times with my stupid comments. so its nice they were nice to me.

Did we ever play Panamanian teams in town or is my memory all screwed up by years of drinking?
