First England appearance for Tuanzebe at any level. Wonder If it's come fairly late due to his dual nationality issue ?
http://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spor...s/newcastle-facing-big-decision-adam-11428995 Think they should give the kid a chance and play him, will have more determination to prove himself than the likes of Cisse and Mitrovic who probably don't want to be there.

More likely we have better players available and are trialling him out now with a few players injured, or missing due to club decisions

I get that competition in this group there is pretty good, but I find it tough to believe he hasn't been involved in any of the England squads atleast at any level so far only because there were better options. Been highly regarded at United for years now and his performances at every level so far have been pretty good plus he's been mostly the captain at each too. Was most likely gonna get into the first team ahead of Fosu Mensah and Williams as well if he didn't get injured. Even comparing to his United contemporaries in Williams and Borthwick Jackson who have been in the England loop from U15/16 levels it makes no sense.
Not looking good by means of the results. I think we really need Roberts in the side if we're going to win it or qualify for the U20 World Cup. No goals in 180 minutes isn't good. Hopefully they were just knackered by the heat and this isn't just down to tacticts and bad management.
But anytime they call up that squad they have to essentially choose between Moore, Gomez, Fry, Clarke-Salter, Adarabioyo, Tomori. Then as you say Borthwick-Jackson who I don't think is even better than those. I still feel like I've missed some. You can also add Oxford to that recently. While you say he has been doing excellently at United they are other players who have been doing excellently at their own clubs who are probably better than United. I haven't even included Maghoma who before last season was probably doing as well as Tuanzebe and of course Carter-Vickers who hasn't had a chance in this age group, and he has already made the TOTT for the u20 World Cup last year at 17, a tournament this very squad may not even qualify for and captained Spurs u21s at 16. If they want to get anywhere in a tournament they're going to need to let a partnership form at some point. Williams would also not have been called up for this age group. The u18s are a lot weaker but again he has taken advantage of Oxford being pulled from that age group
I think he is on par performance or promise wise with any of the names you mentioned but that wasn't the argument i was making. And i suppose you also missed out on Callum connolly who has 7 appearances at this level already. You can list all of those together and in one squad right now i can see players being kept out but all of those haven't been available or at this level all together from the beginning every time a squad has been called up for the last 4 years. Some have been played at fullback, some were promoted earlier to the U19s from the u18s or to the U18s from the U17 vacating space, while some have gotten into the reckoning late and some from the beginning. What i was pointing out however was that he hasn't been kept in the loop or called up to a England squad altogether which is strange. And this was the parrallel being drawn to Roshaun Williams or borthwick jackson who have been in the loop deservedly from the u 15 levels or so. It wasn't about wheter that they made the squad this time or not. Edit - this article seems to suggest that FA became aware of his eligibility in december only which would make sense in one way but not in another. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/...axel-tuanzebes-dual-nationality-a6777506.html
I wonder what some of the clubs think of these foreign trips. Globetrotting to play some bizarre system/personnel. All the while being coached by Aidy Boothroyd. Maybe I'm being harsh but when say Dan Micciche takes the younger players away you can at least understand what they are trying to do. With the older groups it just seems to be a case of turn up and we will make it up as we go along. We aren't going to be playing any of these formations in the U19 finals.
It really doesn't. It even says that Tuanzebe wasn't called up in November because of "uncertainty over his international intentions", which clearly implies that they were aware of his options. Frankly, the idea that they were unaware of his eligibility despite employing whole departments to identify talent, while we've been chatting about it casually on these boards, is faintly idiotic. Of course they'll have known.
Even before the games against Mexico I was unconvinced we were in a good place for the finals in July.
It would seem Adam Armstrong is an injury doubt for the Euro finals after picking up a knock in Mexico. I guess the squad should be announced some time soon as it's not that long to go.

I'm honestly not looking forward to them at all. With Boothroyd at the helm, it could be the most depressing waste of talent since... well, Chelsea every season. But still a massive waste.
