This is entirely fair. We had the discussion a few days ago about how terrible English teams have been at developing any kind of talent, foreign or domestic.

Considering how the leak happened with Xakha i am sure Arsenal are being even more stringent on this transfer and future transfers this summer.

To me, what I am excited about the most is Mahrez. If this happens, that is huge news. The league would be ours.

    From Sky Sports:

"Widespread reports in the national press had claimed that the 29-year-old would make a decision on whether to leave the Premier League champions and join Arsenal before flying out with England for Euro 2016 on Monday morning.

But Vardy flew out with the rest of the England squad to France from Luton Airport, with his club future still unresolved."

Don't think so. This one to me is a done deal. Vardy seemed to had already agreed. Maybe one or two things have to be done official.

If that's the way it ends up shaking out, it's because Vardy ended up changing his mind. Too much noise around this one: Ranieri's statements, Giroud's comments, and probably a few other things.

I think I'd rather have Miki than Mahrez.

Honestly would like to see Vardy stay put at LCFC and see how they do in CL's next season....

Im with you there. However Mahrez does not have to get acclimated and who knows how either will play under our system.

Vardy is trying to get a new contract from LC. I do not think he is coming. Get a fat contract, look like a hero, play every week. Various players have been through this before - Rooney, Gerard, heck even Paddy.

Even if this is happening I dont see him as our savior. He is imo a welbeck or walcott alternative. WE still need a proper CF to replace or bench giroud.

If we're shipping Theo to West Ham for 25M and signing Vardy for 20M, I've got zero complaints.

Salaries will be a wash for us.

I trust Wenger to figure out how to utilize Vardy.

It will be impossible to contribute less than Walcott did for us last season.

Disagree re: Walcott. He was very, very good before Cazorla got hurt.

NPG/90 over the entire season is quite good. For a Welbeck replacement, it's a good signing. If we're counting on Vardy to put us over the top, not so much.

Mahrez, from watching games, looks like he'll fit pretty well. Haven't seen enough of Dortmund to make a comment on how Miki fits, but his data is much better than Mahrez's, especially if we want to press high.
