Januzaj isn't ridiculously good at passing. He might be average. He needs to make better decisions and avoid injuries and learn how to shoot.
Good point , they are more mobile than Carrick and certainly younger and less injury prone , though ...
I actually think Januzaj has a better chance of staying than Memphis and Linguard who I suspect will be shipped out . I understand that he wants Matic from Chelsea anyways
He's incredible at passing, and even better at seeing the runs. He just hasn't had time to show that after his first season.
Sick dude on there. Got my team United nasty! bought Thiago Maia defensive midfielder from Santos, Laporte, Anderson, and the Wolsburg kid Azzaoui, of course sold Rooney. Rejected a bid for Lingard for 22 mil.
One of the problems mentioned earlier is the shape/ trajectory of the pass. He hits high, looping passes that hang in the air and allow the defense to regroup. When Scholes or Carrick, or Gundogan or Modric or Kross hit those passes they are flatter, more accurate and in stride. Rarely does Rooney hit his runner im stride with the pass. The person regularly has to stop or slow his run. It almost defeats the purpose of the pass. He is, IMO. Putting good weight on his passes. Good vision and technique. But as you say, the decision making isnt there. I agree. He's probably the set piece taker we've been missing as well. Corners and indirect.
We would be stupid to give up on Januzaj already. Also absurd to put him in the same bracket as Morrison who was a complete loose canon. And not sure at all about Memphis at SS. Besides Jose plays with a ACM than a SS anyway. For me we need a established Right winger the most along with Ibra.
Robben even at his age now, probably would have been a good (and cheap) pickup for the short term. Problem is, he seems unable to stay fit nowadays: looks like he was out more than he played for Bayern this past season.
Robben is still Bayern's best attacking player when fit. Insane. There aren't many good right wingers. Every good right footed wide player plays on the left, and there arent a lot of left footed players in general.
I get the desire: I was all for trying to sign him last summer if United could have because he's obviously still had it when fit. What a colossal mistake that would have been though.
it was getting hard to watch carrick toward the end of the season chasing after guys and taking fouls. i kinda wish that he'd call it quits on a high note, playing a meaningful role in a cup victory. it's all downhill from here.
that might be best. he was notably bad at cheap giveaways this season as well. and not for lack of options
