and THIS is not an answer...sigh http://m.nydailynews.com/sports/soc...y-striker-miroslav-klose-ny-article-1.2612068
Its not happening. The only sources are foreign blogs who probably have no idea what the difference between the Red Bulls, NYCFC, and the Cosmos are. This move is a complete 180 from the transfer philosophy the club has right now, there's no way they're paying millions for a 37 year old player right now.
http://www.empireofsoccer.com/red-bulls-ali-curtis-showed-interest-in-klose-six-months-ago-47307/ this rumor becomes harder to discard when the Red Bulls’ boss is on record mere months ago expressing interest in the star German striker. The Red Bulls issued “no comment” on the rumored Klose signing.
He remains crafty, creative, strong and valuable. RBNY need help. Klose, regardless of my personally affinity for the guy, can give the attack a kick in the pants.
This season sucks so far because of our defense. Not our offense. There's no reason to bring Klose in when we have BWP, Grella, and Veron who are legit starting quality forwards and a healthy crop of youngsters behind them in Abang, Etienne, Allen, and Muyl.
Jeff Carlisle @JeffreyCarlisle League source tells me that there is "no truth" to the report Miroslav Klose headed to NYRB #RBNY #MLS 1:29 PM - 23 Apr 2016
It is in direct contradiction with their stated policy of not overpaying for talent especially when that talent is over the hill.
Well we won one, lads. I would hope it would kick start our campaign but we also won 4-3 last month and continued to struggle. I say keep everyone and just get the CBs healthy. Zubar is past it and he was never that good and Ouimette is just one of these NASL+ guys. In Baseball they call them 4A. Better than triple A but not good enough for the majors.
I would not be surprised at all if Ouimette ends up suspended for the next match. I hope Baah or someone is up for stepping into that position.
Can't decide which way they'll go with this one. On one hand, it was a nationally televised game and a clear mistake from the ref, but the disciplinary committee typically saves retro-reds for violent, dangerous tackles instead of "professional fouls".
Historically they haven't often gone out of their way to disagree with the referee's judgement, but this year is a whole other ball of wax. If Heath is to be believed (even in part), there will be some major impetus coming from Walton's side of things to begin righting the wrongs. That said, I will add this, Ouimette didn't just make contact, he kind of did it from behind with his trail leg, more of a scissoring movement. The tackle was as innocuous as it could be under the circumstances, but it is of a type that has the potential to be atrocious. And sometimes, even "innocent" albeit cynical tackles can cause injury. Maybe it wasn't going to break Larin's legs, but he could easily break an arm, collarbone or separate a shoulder falling down. Larin plopped down of his own volition plenty of times, especially considering what a big boy he is. OTOH, running at speed and getting your legs taken out is never completely safe.
The saddest part of all is the sequence should never have happened. Larin was offside when the ball was played.
Yup. I just heard that myself. While of course in that case the league could choose to still punish Ouimette for some kind of misconduct, the most likely eventuality is that they will simply conclude that Grajeda is a lousy referee and his assistant had a really horrendous match (not just for this call, but for several others, too) and toss the whole thing into the round file. Too bad for Adrian Heath but at least the Red Bulls dodge a potential bullet.
Marsch confirmed today both Baah and Veron are potentially available to play on Friday. Hope they're being cautious this time around after what happened to Veron earlier.
Double, extra careful with Veron. He brings an extra dimension that Grella and Sam simply don't have. Get him healthy now so he doesn't miss any more time later in the season.
Well...okay maybe not "F#CK" Veron, but if I had to choose between the two I wouldn't hesitate to take Baah.
@NYPost_Lewis Sources tell the @nypost that the Red Bulls will acquire Aurélien Collin from @OrlandoCitySC for a conditional 4th-round pick
