Congrats, and you will be around the Fire long after Mirotic and Felicio are gone and forgotten.

Watching #cf97 match again, Polster in 57th and 76th minute so comfy going forward looks like as a #8 he could be lethal and create danger.

Ah yes while I think Polster is a very good player defensively he's in no way a playmaker or real offensive threat.

so weird. we've been sub 45% possession in every match against 11 players. We're 16th in the league. Even with the 3 goal opener, we're on pace to score 34 goals for the season. Packing it in from the opening whistle has reduced our goals allowed, but at the expense of the aforementioned possession, and leading to us being out shot in every game so far this season. On average our opponents are out shooting us 16-10, 6-3 on goal. Giving up twice as many chances as you create is apparently the new competence.

A quick look back at goalkeepers over the last few seasons indicates Lampson's current save % is probably unsustainable, and if this disparity continues we're going to pay for this eventually.

this is really bad - we're on pace to allows 215 shots on goal. If we don't change this, we're gonna give up a shit-ton of goals unless Lampson wins the league MVP.

If Lampson equals SJs best season, 215 SOG would yield 53 goals allowed
If he equals the current league Save % 215 SOG would yield 64 goals
If he only equals SJs career average, it would be 66 goals allowed
If he hit the league average save % from last year its 70 goals allowed

"Sing it from the rooftops: The Chicago Fire are a competent soccer team."-Take that shit to the delusion thread.

A: We have won one game in six, that is hardly "competent."
B: We should be a damned sight better than "competent." We should be competitive; we should be challenging at the top of league; we should dominate.
C: Mr. Hauptman and his ineffective front office keeps us from B and almost keeps us from A.

Not sure he can qualify for a work permit, since he did not play in any games for his national team this year, but, other than that,

    YEP.

As for the "8 more games," 8 more games with Accam as part of the team. Whether he plays depends on if he has recovered from injury, or if they keep him out to avoid more injuries which might lower his market value.

No, Dan was right about this. Polster was blazing up the wing and rounding the corner (who is Montreal's LB? He must be slow as ********) and crossing it in. Very active. Very well done.

Accam said he couldnt get a work permit last window. I dont see how that could have changed less backchannels to the Home Office. The last I read from him was that he was targeting the home game on 4/30, IIRC. He should be a big sale in July. I expect the kid to be on the Ghana 18 come World Cup.

The problem is that his cautious usage tells us that we cant have something nice. There isnt any sense in obtaining a name because our organization lacks a frame. There isnt any established structure to utilize them. Whats the sense in chroming a Gremlin?

Why would anyone spend $24 million to buy a 1 percent stake in the New York Yankees? Minority ownership seems like a lose-lose proposition: A lot of money for very little power. For wealthy sports fans, though, it’s cool -- and can be one heck of a tax shelter.

Owning a piece of a team can create the kind of on-paper losses that cut a wealthy owner’s bill to the Internal Revenue Service. A sports team “spits out losses that offset other income," says Murray Solomon, a tax partner at the accounting firm EisnerAmper in New York City. “Then at the end of the day, you can sell the investment and make money.”

To get the full tax benefits, many owners need to be actively involved in the management of their team, a requirement that, for IRS purposes, requires 500 hours of attention, or about 10 hours a week. For a sports fan, it’s not onerous. In baseball, with its 162-game season, “You can get to 500 hours during the season just by showing up and enjoying the games,” says Robert Wilson, managing member of Black Diamond Strategic Management, a consulting firm in Calverton, N.Y.

Saturday people didn't buy into my argument that the defense hasn't improved all that much because in my opinion the purpose of defense in soccer is to limit the chances/shots of the opposing team. Not to just park the bus and hope that the other team has an off day when it comes to shooting. Just ridiculous that Pauno and N-Rod are okay with letting opposing teams have their way with us and then spouting that our defense is playing great.
