Or they're just smaller markets than Cincy and OKC and are not going to get as many people out to games. Or both.

Probably both. OKC and Tulsa aren't that different in attendance compared to Cincinnati/Louisville. But it was the first game ever. We had 9k for that last year.

Is this an attendance thread or an MLS II teams thread?

So, what's missing is 1 Charlotte, 1 Montreal, 1 NYRB II, 1 OC Blues, 1 Wilmington Hammerheads, and all 3 S2, right?

New here and FC Cincinnati fan. The success to start comes from a few places. I think there was a hunger, but the ownership has done an amazing job working with new and old media to raise visibility of the club. Channels 5, 9, and 12 were all there and covered it with same respect they would a baseball game. Goes a long way to create perception this is legitimate.

On the branding I'd say management has responded to desires to make the club traditional and allow for organic atmosphere to market the team. The name is not really a plus (some older people think the nickname is "FC"), but big thing is it is not a negative.

I'm just happy to have a team to cheer for and hope crowds continue to be strong and we play well.

Plus, I am guessing (and which usually gets overlooked by people who think tickets sell themselves) is that an owner with money who understands how things work will devote resources to actually sellng tickets. Which was not the case with any Cincinnat club I am aware of from the past.

(Quick digression: the old Riverhawks offered me their GM gig back in maybe 2000? Best move I never made. What a nightmare that franchise was.)

Wow! ^This is nuts! Garber should take another look at the order of the next 4.

Phenomenal attendance, but Cincy should still be a low priority for MLS.

They have a billionaire owner and 20,000 attendance so they just moved up on Garber's list. If MLS is going to 32 teams they will make it. Louisville won't though.

From looking at this weekend's schedule, it appears that the league is scheduling the 2's to play on days that the parent club does not. If so, good idea. Is this new or did the league to it last year, too?

Certainly on the shortlist for 30-32... Even late 20s maybe... But I still say they aren't a priority.

    Jesus.

They've played two frigging home games. I'm surprised people aren't nominating them to represent the US in the Club World Cup and just skipping the Champions League.

And it's not Garber's Frigging List. The Board of Governors decides these things, not the commissioner.

16k and 20k speak volumes. They had 4K more than Columbus last night.

Why do teams with good attendance have to be MLS targets immediately?

Saying this may shock the foundation of big soccer, but attendance isn't everything...
