serna ought to be starting. when he's on his game, we get to see some pretty good goals. if he's not, fine, sub him out, it's a worthwhile risk, especially since we always seem to have subs to spare anyway

Every once and a while my recollection of this comes to mind. It was an amazing feat of athleticism.

As far as Bouna v MacMath, I recall Bouna having some walk-about issues, but not catching the ball issues.

Regardless, I am eager for Howard to arrive.

Over who? Our 5 man midfield arguably has 7 starters. Gashi, Pappa, Jones, Powers, Cronin, Azira, Serna.

Our outside backs when healthy should be williams and Miller. Maybe if one of them is not available Serna should take their spot.

Otherwise he should come off the bench.

For as much crap as fans gave Bouna for his walkabouts I don't remember any of them ever actually costing us a goal. Some came close though.

The one thing I regret about his time in CC is not getting one of his special jerseys. It was some sort of fund raiser, correct?

    Macmath looked completely shell shocked.

Dwyer is deadly around the net, of course it helps to mark him.

Serna with another goal of the week strike. Seems like Rapids have a bevy of players capable of scoring from distance this year. Hope to see some good ones.

Yeah, for kids back home in Senegal.

I didn't get one either, but I do have one of his "game-worn" jerseys. Pretty sure it was "game-worn" when he sat on the bench for one of those friendlies against a Mexican team since it has the old "3rd jersey" color/font on the front.

azira was brought in to be depth, jones takes his spot. depending on where you think powers is best suited he either takes cronin's spot or rotates/backs up gashi

I don't see Cronin getting replaced in starting line-up.

Based on their play so far I'd rather have Azira in than Cronin.

defensively maybe, but whenever he had the ball you know it's going back to a defender, because he couldn't make the type of pass needed to move it upfield

Or he will take one touch too many and lose the ball.

He has been really frustrating to watch - so strong defensively, so incapable of making the requisite quick decision with the ball at his feet

Azira has been the backbone of the Rapids d-mid for the entire season. Would hate to see him benched.

I do like his quickness, especially with our lumbering backline.

Once everyone is healthy I would like to see them both benched. Something like this
    gashi. Pappa Serna
    Jones Powers

The way he's been playing lately Azira should continue to start. I don't see Jones maintaining the discipline on defense and of Azira or Cronin, Azira's gonna be the one to provide the cover.

I went to the Rockies game and wasn't able to watch the match live but rushed home from Coors to catch my recording. I was going to bang my head if this game was a dud. Much to my surprise it was not. It was worth staying up to watch my recording. I can't add much to what's already been said about the match. It's pretty self explanatory and you guys did a bang up job breaking it all down. But I'll just make a few points:

    1) Solignac looks confident. He just never did last season for a myriad of reasons. He's been a pleasant surprise
    2) Loved seeing Serna on the backline. Did not make a wrong decision all night. He looked extremely comfortable. And what strike off the bar!!!!
    3) Gashi got that monkey off his back. I have a feeling things are going to start falling into place for him.
    4) MacMath is fragile right now. He's a liability. Howard can't come soon enough!!!!!!!

Great win! Easily could have lost 5-2 though. McMath is almost Nasco level bad. Our team can't survive goaltending like this until July 4.

Papa is everything for the attack right now. Williams should start at RB and Serns should start at wing more often. Jones and Azura might be fun vs NY
