Congrats - that doesn't look like an easy undertaking, what boot did you take the sole from? was this done by you or did you have a cobbler help?

I know sizing is a nightmare - especially as the different international sizing systems don't actually line up properly so all size charts are just an approximation.

I don't think he knows UK sizing though????

For what its worth I've recently had my feet measured to be UK8 - and I wore UK8.5 in Adidas LZs and then this season have been wearing Morelias in 27cm (which is matched by size charts to UK8), which has been fine, but I am wondering if I actually could have gone half a size down to 26.5cm. I'm going to measure my feet in mm and post on here before I buy another pair.

Hope that doesn't make it even more confusing

the sole is from Mizuno Wave Power Shooter Pro(what a name :p), and I gave it to a cobbler to merge them!

    I don't know UK sizing.
But I just checked my Neo, M2 and F50, here are the sizes:
    F50: UK9, JP280
    Neo & M2: UK8.5, JP275
So I go down half a size in both UK and JP. I can't go further down.
Hope this helps clear thing up.

Does anyone have any experience with the Mizuno Sala? If so, what's the sizing like? I assume they don't stretch any, and I wonder if I should go half size up.

I have the Morelia Sala in K Leather and they don't really stretch, the reinforced toe box pretty doesn't allow it, all they do is get softer. Since these are syntethic, I don't see these stretching. They look sick though!

i recently got the Astro version
    http://www.prodirectsoccer.com/prod...rf-Trainer-Grey-White-Light-Blue-111366.aspx?

    i got them in uk7.0

my morelias II are in uk6.5

yes, the stitching pattern at the toe-end does kinda make it in such a way "shorter"

tho' i'd to wear with padded socks to hv a more snug fit

a uk6.5 will be rather too tight at the toe-end

it's a great shoe even for very dry n hard natural pitches

Anybody remember the old Mizuno ad that used to run on Mizuno's Japan site about 6 or 7 years ago.

All of the pro players were drawn like cartoons?

thought it was just the lack of blonde hair at first lol.

wish Kagawa would go back to being sponsored by Mizuno for some reason. not entirely rational, but just want like Japan's best technical player to also be using their boots

I ordered the basara 101 japan in blue/black. Got them this week. They are beautiful and well made. Compared to basara 001 leather they have more leather and the quality of the shoe is a lot better.

My basara 001 is size 270, and they are snug, could not be smaller. The new basara 101 is of the same size, but I think I could have ordered 265 instead. The soleplate and the insole are exactly the same as in the older model, but the heel is of different shape, it curves more "behind" the soleplate, and therefore there is more space in front of the toes. Also because there is more leather in the front part, the fit is not as tight. So I recommend buying true to size in basara 101 J whereas in 001 leather I recommend going half size up. I think my 101 will fit me fine in 270 though, unless they strech a lot.

Really cool close up of some of Honda's older custom boots.
I would absolutely love a re-release of these!
