What happened to the lady that did these segments last year? Don't remember her name but she used to do stuff for Toronto fc. She was really good. This new lady is meh.
Yeah we should make changes , play only May to June and Sept to October , that will cover the warm states too who wants to play in 100 deg weather
Sporting is so far ahead of so many MLS teams in terms of branding, name recognition, and community significance. Really unthinkable 6-7 years ago before and immediately after the re-brand when I (and others) mocked the rebrand.
Not everyone mocked the rebrand. It really wasn't unthinkable if you were paying attention to what they were doing with the new ownership.
Acee: Mission Valley right for SDSU expansion, stadium San Diego Union Tribune IF San Diego lands an MLS team, this is what the likely location would look like surrounding it.
I was at the inaugural game in Kansas City (on behalf of league sponsor TSI Soccer). What an incredible night. Over 20k at Arrowhead. Klopas got the first and Digital did the crawl. And I'm a little annoyed at all these snoclassico photos that weren't taken by me. What am I, chopped liver?
I rather like the retro jerseys on rare occasions. Once a year is good. For this year, obviously, nine teams should wear jerseys based on the '96 uniforms. But there is plenty of soccer history just about everywhere, whether it's being in MLS since it started, a team in the original NASL, a minor league team, indoor soccer, or even amateur clubs that participated in the Open Cup. Of course, when the rights to a particular uniform design already belong to the team, it's much easier to pull off.
gotta give it to Rachel. she won her job with TFC initially on a contest and rode it all the way to being on a major TV network.
Yeah - compare that to the Chicago Fire. We all know that the once proud franchise has sunk into almost total irrelevance around Chicago. My local town newspaper - in a pretty far flung suburb of Chicago - no longer covers them. No articles - not listed on the "Upcoming Chicago sports games" calendar - nothing. When the Fire got their first win of the season last week, not even an AP report (which they had done for away games last year).
Klopas, Preki, Digital and Mark Chung... gotta hand it to Ron Newman. McKeon and Sorber were the stuff of strong midfields/good spine, too. How was the rest?
I believe Patrick Harrington was in goal for the opener, but didn't last long. Garth Lagerway took over for a bit, but eventually Mike Ammann took over. The late great Nigerian international Oguchi Onyewu was in the center of defense. Sean "the tower of power" Bowers (US Futsal international) was also in defense. Sammy Ekeme and Paul the fastest man in MLS Wright were on the squad. Ryan Tinsley and Alan Prampin come to mind. Diego Gutierrez was a young local player from Colombia via Rockhurst. A few more names are floating around my head, but I'd have to look it up. The original allocated player was Sorber.
Oh my good lord. Doh! Uche was one of the sweetest people I ever met in this game. His tragic passing in Dallas a few years back leaves a huge hole in our past.
I don't want to see her in those type of videos. I did see her before the US-Colombia game yesterday and was disappointed.
