Ah that is sad news indeed. I was in London for 16 hours at the end of January and I considered trying to dash in from the airport hotel to look him up. You never know when someone is going to go, and now I am going to repent that I never took that opportunity to get back in contact. You always think there will be more time....... I haven't seen Tel and Fred since 2005. Met him and his brother in 2001 and went to a match at Highbury. Went again with them in 2003, but I had to take an awful ripping about us Aussies losing the rugby world cup to some English geezers the week before. Terry slipped on a tape of Swing Low Sweet Chariots when they picked me up in his car. They even had a menu waiting in the pub for me where I could order "Great Australian Whines" - yeah that officiating was a joke. I stayed a week or so with Fred in 2005 during the Ashes - and Tel gave me his system at the dogs and I won enough for a few shouts and fun. I just turned around from the computer while I was writing this, and on my bookshelf I still have 2 Xmas cards from Terry and 2 from Fred. Just re-read their messages and the Morinho jokes and the eyes are glistening over somewhat. Time to shake that off with some good blokey cheer and pour myself a Bundy before bed to remember him by. Cheers mate - was a pleasure to know you and spend time in your company.
I thought that those who knew Terry, would like to see the order of service. It was a bit of a gloomy day weather wise, however that did nothing to dampen the warmth & love that was shared by all. The Chapel could not accommodate the number of people attending, many standing in the wings and outside the open doors. . . . . . . . .
Nice job Rog and thanks for posting. I only knew him from BigSoccer but liked him from that point of view. But now seeing his fav songs played at the service, I like him even more: Space Oddity, Me & Mrs Jones, Love Reign o'er Me.
