this game has madness all over it. i wonder if Ilsinho and Anderson have ever played in a snowbowl before
Restrepo was a bit up and down in the preseason, but he was being played on the left mostly. I'd like to see him on his natural right side, but you have Le Toux there as well. Leo earned his time with his play in the preseason, but has just been OK in the first two games.
I got a call today from the "MLS Sales Office" in Minneapolis, MN offering me a deal for tickets to Sunday's game. The problem is their "deal" was worse than if I bought direct from the Union. WTF? At least they are making an effort to get people into the stands for the opener.
I think they still have a game to play down in Houston. Ready to throw in more hotel and some bus fare ?
The Minny MLS office is the central intern farm where they're grown pod fresh. The U usually have an "alumnus" or two of that program working sales. My rep last year was from that office but Ohio originally. You'd think with their locavore fetish the U would be getting kids from Drexel, or, I don't know, maybe a local university they have ties with, instead they bring in imports stealing quality low pay internships from DelVal kids. Instead they have some sweet midwestern farm girl cold calling a former cranky STH on why he hasn't renewed. 1)Hire clueless kid 2)Call old crank 3) Profit!!!
Looks like, for now, the snow has shifted later into Sunday Night. Wx Underground showing ~46F & <10% precip for the 2:30-4:30 game period.
Tie seems about right. Still gelling as a team, but the Columbus game at least showed they can analyze a loss and attempt to fix it. It was a reminder that other teams can be crappy, too. I think they are going to miss Jones this year.
Pretty crazy when, 2 games into the season, you see some particular teams without a win yet ... CLB, SEA, NYRB.
According to the Referee forum, Nima Saghafi will be making his MLS debut as the center referee in this match.
He was in USL last season and was the 4th official for the USL Final. http://www.proreferees.com/roster-nima-saghafi.php Ya gotta start somewhere. . . http://www.proreferees.com/news--us...hankful-for-experience-across-the-leagues.php
Yep, Weather Underground says 70% chance of rain at kickoff, increasing to 90% through the early evening. Pneumonia for everyone!
Despite the gloomy weather forecast, Union fans are still mildly optimistic of a result, with 32.8% predicting a win.
