Way to slow / too many give aways in midfield. Lots of potential great chances are turning into turnovers and chances for Villa. Team slow to react in general.
On the replay of the goal, you can see that when Alli got the foul, the Villa players stopped, but Kane and Lamela kept moving, and caught Villa by surprise. Almost seems like that was either a directive from Poch, or a result of the conversation that Dembele had with Deir and Alli during the Villa injury.
I think we've looked good. Villa has often looked like a team playing with energy, desperate energy. They are not playing as a team, however. It's like all the players are auditioning for other jobs after the drop. But, eventually, we broke through. COYS!
it has been for awhile, now, if we're honest. ... though i'm trying to keep my bitching to a minimum for the next hour, or so ... and hopefully beyond. quality ball from Alli and finish from Kane. they'll have to put numbers forward, and we should have space. frankly, I thought we could've pressured the ball a bit better in the 1st half, and hope we're a bit better in that regard in the half to come. there should be plenty there for us, an it'd be nice to put this one to bed in the next 10-15 minutes.
