Hol' up. I thought Cuban players couldn't play abroad?

...There's a problem if you can't produce one quality player from a U-20 WC Qualifying process. Who will be the scapegoat my Kangaroo eating mate.

They're still very young, so it's too early to determine who will become a quality player later on, and who will disappear.

Certainly doesn't look good, as our U-23's were terrible last year. :(

"very young"? They're what... 21-23 right?.. They're far from "very young".

    1- the agents
2- the LMF coaches. We should've had u20/u23 players playing regular game times for a long time now. While it would've hurt in the beginning, it benefits now. Seeing Sagasitazado, Orellana, Dominguez, Barahona, Flores Jaco, Peña, Jairo play well with our Senior NT is something that could've happened a long time ago (with other players but the logic is still the same). The name of our players is tainted, whether it be laziness or money hungry (Alas, AA, Oscar Ceren, Burgos, and maybe even Ruso). Ceren in MLS and Dennis in Tigres have opened up doors for us I believe. Burgos Jr to Atlanta and Chino Flores to Cimarrones is panning out well (well, TBA for Burgos). But hopefully we see an increase in abroad players to better leagues

The problem is that because he managed to score goals this way during his last stint with FAS, I guess he thinks he can go ahead and have free reign at it.

I was thinking about last year's U-20 cycle; they're 20-21. But yes, the 2013 U-20 WC squad would be 21-23 now.

Some of these U-23 players have recently started playing with our NT last year, but IMO it's too early to tell which of them are here to stay and which aren't.

Btw can you share some light as to why Honduras hasn't been very successful as of late?

    Generational gap.

Not enough good players between the ages of 24-29. Plus the core of our last two cycles are washed up now.. So that leaves Honduras with zero experience and not much ready-now talent, along with old geezers.

U-23 teams for the next two generations though might be the best we've had ever. This team going to Rio and the one four years from now are going to be the backbone for a couple of WCQs. Probably do a CR.. miss a WC and then try and kick down the door on Qatar.

It's crazy how the 2010 and 2014 WC squads had players in the EPL and Serie A, but that's no longer the case anymore. You've got Izaguirre and Najar playing in good leagues but that's it.

Yep, but I think guys like Elis and Vuelto are on the cusp of playing in those big leagues.

Lozano and Najar could also go to a big 4 league in the future Chrinos and Salas also have that potential then we have the MLS guys.

Generation gap, many of our 2012 Olympic guys went on the decline and or have become stagnant and never reached their potential personally I would put the blame on Luis Fernando Suarez for not giving those guys continuation with the NT only Luis Garrido and Mario Martinez got regular game time under him.

So we are still trying to get Junior Flores to come over... If he wasn't under Roca how do some believe he will under Primi of all coaches.

Flores has turned us down 3 times now? I think he's just not down to play with us. And if he's turning us down without even being a regular on the reserve team he will not pick us if he does make it to prime time. I'd rather we use our resources to reach out to Roldan than someone whose already shown a lack of desire to play for the blue and white.

The way I see it, Flores and Roldan want to remain an option for USA. If they still haven't been called up at any level after the Olympics or even the 2018 WC, then maybe they'll give up trying to impress USA, and switch over to ES. It's what players like AA, Purdy and Mayen have done, it's nothing new.

So, AA has announced on twitter that he has no intent on playing for ES while the coach and the people in FESFUT right now are still around. We've lost one of our main players. Damn.

Commendable but stupid on his part considering his age at this point and his ability having dropped a bit he is only hurting himself.

Oh well scratch him off the a abroad list then.

My guess is he just wants to focus on his club but added the fesfut part to avoid blow back

Scratch him off why abroad list why? We followed Edwin Miranda even a while after he never had a cap again. Don't blame him and it allows a new person to emerge. No hard feelings at least from me. Morons are those saying he never did anything. Rediculous. Too bad because he kicked butt last few weeks after so much inactivity. Still has alot to offer.
