He lives!!! So if/when do you guys think Mizuno will release a mostly black WI4? I mean you would think they would do so at some point...
Wanted to introduce myself with a post about how legitimately fascinated I am with Mizuno. Been reading through the Mizuno threads quite a bit lately, and thanks to some help from several members on the forum, I was able to get the sizing perfect on a pair of Morelia Neo MIJ's that I ordered a few weeks ago. I've read countless reviews for a couple of years now and was always hesitant to pull the trigger on a pair. Being a long time boot fiend having owned several pairs of amazing boots when I was younger, including the glorious Predator Mania TRX, F50+, AirZoom Total 90's among other's, so many of the new releases leave so much to be desired. I've been using Tiempo Legend V's for a while now and I thought they would be the closest to an old school feel since there's no way to go but leather for me after purchasing several synthetic boots and discovering that there is just no comparison and that they weren't going to work for me. The second I put on the MIJ Neo's I knew I had made an amazing decision. Perfect, glove-like fit and the touch on the ball is flawless. So happy I came across this thread with so much useful information.
Yeah i read through those before asking, just wanted a more in depth opinion :x Cause I'm looking at the price tags and the neos are considerably more pricey
i think morelia wave better than morelia, i don't know about neo though. morelia wave offers better heel lockdown than morelia, but the leather not as padded as morelia (or neo perhaps) so if i have to choose, i'll choose morelia wave. absolute bliss.
Pretty much this, leave the Morelia core design alone - its perfect. The only thing Mizuno can for me personally is re-release the Morelia ULs and all leather Wave Cups. I can wear Mizuno boots out of the box and not worry about blisters, they fit my foot perfectly, the quality is very high, I am not interested in gimmicks (insert innovation) and marketing doesn't influence my decisions like it would if I was 15. I haven't worn anything else for >10 years because the boots are that good.
I have not worn the Neo as I have been on the self with chronic knee issues for a while, but when I see Dr. Laprade at Steadman and Dr. Anz at Andrews over the next few months I am going to have a pair of the white and blue Neo and tell them I want to be back in them over the next 12 months. I think it will come down to what you are looking for in an outsole more than anything between the two boots - slight differences in fit aside. I had the Wave back in the early 2000's and they were awesome, although I ordered too small and had to sell them off. The Wave was not as easily obtained in those days so I ended up replacing it with a pair of black and white MIJ Rivaldo Wave Cup Pro's which I also ended up selling because they just didn't work for me, despite being great boots - I greatly regret that as they were super rare in that color and probably more what I look for now in boots, despite being bladed. I found the Wave to be very much like an upgraded adidas SuperNova (which was a comparable boot for features at the time), nice leather upper, structured fit, and good heel lockdown, although lighter in hand than the SuperNova. The Wave is not bulky at all, but it isn't going to have the feel of a leather F50 1.5 which is probably the most comparable spec leather speed boot to the Neo . At the time of the Wave I loved blades, so they were pretty much the dream boot of the day. Now that I avoid blades, I would go for different boots as there are other options like the Neo. Rounded studs are less stressful on my knee in the limited play I do now, so the MIJ Morelia, Copa, or Legend or Premier is my go to FG when messing about, but the Neo looks great for an upgrade from the old F50 that performed very well. It is up to you, but examine your uses for the boot and see what works best for your common playing surfaces, injury history, personal preferences and so on. Welcome...this particular thread is one of the best, if not the best, thread on the board (MIJ thread comes close). You'll learn a lot from the people that post in here and their experience in the boot world. This and the MIJ thread are probably the two most "global" threads we have as well, with high level posters from literally every continent where you can play football/soccer. The black looks sick...wonder how the upper feels to the touch and how it performs.
Thanks everyone for the replies. esp dr. boots for the very informative one. will take a few weeks to consider thanks
Interesting - I haven't seen Mizuno do as much with Primeskin as initially I thought they might but seeing this I wonder if we might start to see it used more?
Anyone find the blue/yellow Neo's in a UK 11 online, they seem to be sold out everywhere Watching a pair on ebay at the minute but doesn't end for another 3 days.
Picked up the Mizuno Neo Shin blue/yellow combo on ebay for £17 only worn once So happy to get them in my size/

How much extra did you have to pay over the listed price for shipping/taxes/other fees? Great find btw.
Haha surely you have enough boot boxes laying around to build a house out of them by now... I paid about 12 USD extra. I have yet to pay shipping though. They don't charge for that until they receive the product... I love yahoo auctions Japan...I found these bad boys as well http://page8.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/h190568539
