Inbox: https://t.co/jFBMw8xSEc FS1 TELEVISES MLS CONFERENCE SEMIFINALS DOUBLEHEADER IN AUDI 2015 MLS CUP PLAYOFFS THIS SUNDAY— Jonathan Tannenwald (@thegoalkeeper) October 30, 2015 LB - Sorry about my last post here - which spoiled the results of Wednesday/Thursdays MLS knock-out round matches. I should have probably waited until today (Saturday) to post those tweets.
The spoiler issue should be solved by simply adding a [R] in the thread title. This way, the onus is on the lurker to beware when viewing.
How long has Max Bretos been doing CL games? Terrible! I feel like I'm watching an Argentina Primera division match in 1998.
The first Copa Sudamericana 1/2 final starts 3.5 minutes late because Fox Deportes can't figure out how to budget time on a delayed Barca CL broadcast or Barca highlights, post-game, and post-game commercials. I know it's only 3 minutes but this is a semi-final and not a live Barca match. Fox should be able to figure these things out, but perhaps I expect too much from a network that loves to run a crawl with repeating information about goal scoring leaders in each league, as is knowing that information in real time matters to anyone.
Oh wait, I guess he is doing games for ESPN, not FOX. I missed that initially because for me all CL matches are on the same channel -> DVR. I'm not sure what's better: having ESPN show a live match meaning a total of 4 different live matches even for those w/o FS+, or just having the 3 live matches on the accessible/affordable FOX channels - fs1, fs2, fox networks - and not having to hear Bretos.
I love Max Bretos. I missed him calling the games for FOX. He and Roger V was one heck of a team on those Argentine League broadcasts
Bretos isn't that bad as a studio host, but he most certainly isn't my first choice commentator from espn.
Kind of wish I could check out FC United v Chesterfield in the FA Cup today for less than $15 per month
Just checked the guide for next weeks European games, Looks like there will be no 1st Leg Europa League games on FS1 due to NASCAR stuff from Daytona. So if you're like me with Comcast and no FS2 you'll have to resort to ESPN Deportes which will show live Villarreal vs Napoli and Bayern Leverkusen vs Sporting Lisbon (no surprise there) followed by Dortmund vs Porto at 2 and Midtjylland vs Man United at 4
Great to see El Presidente @FernandoFiore sign a multiyear deal with Fox Sports TV to do soccer in English. https://t.co/yrepr5w5bx— Subscribe to GrantWahl.com (@GrantWahl) February 9, 2016 Emmy Award-winning broadcaster Fernando Fiore, who has spent his distinguished career working exclusively on Spanish-language television, crosses over to English-language joining FOX Sports as a co-host and general contributor for the network’s expanding portfolio of elite, world-class soccer events. Fiore most recently contributed to FOX Sports’ coverage of the CONCACAF Cup in October. Under the new multi-year deal, Fiore serves as co-host and general contributor for a multitude of soccer events including the historic 2016 Copa America Centenario, Mexican National Team home matches, the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and the 2018 FIFA World Cup. Fiore’s new role begins Wednesday, Feb. 10, when Mexico, under new coach Juan Carlos Osorio, faces Senegal in primetime on FS1 (8:30 PM ET).
@SportsTVRatings - Mexico/Senegal Friendly - Wednesday, February 10 - 8:30 pm ET - 10:30 pm ET. Univision Deportes - 493,000 viewers. Fox Sports 1 - 90,000 viewers.
After Tottenham-Crystal Palace, the broadcaster did highlights of Blackburn-West Ham United where what he said didn't match the video of what happened.
Ugh! I missed the "YNWA" sung by 70,000 fans last night in Dortmund since I only DVR'd the match from 3:00 ET onward. Anyone know if FOX showed it?
They just promoted the Copa America during the Bundesliga Pre-game on Fox. With the Copa in Studio. Pretty smart idea. Hopefully we see more hype during the Champions League too.
NASCAR on Saturday. On Sunday, Fox Sports 1 has NASCAR RaceDay ending at 12:30 P.M. and Motorcycle Racing from 12:30 P.M. to past the end of the FA Cup game at 1:00 P.M. (the FA Cup game will end later if it has extra time). Sunday's NASCAR race is on Fox.
If the Manchester United match was scheduled for Sunday, I bet they'd alter that schedule. But they won't for Watford-Palace.
