Just like with the "new and improved" Puerto Rican NASL team, you might want to start a new club listing under the NASL teams. That way we get a fresh start with the PRFC brand and don't have to keep coming to the NASL expansion sublist. There is precedent for listing PRFC with the active teams even though it is not yet competing (NY Cosmos).

With the budget crisis in PR this may not be the greatest moment to invest.

    Just saying.

Economic hardships in Puerto Rico spur a mass exodus to the US mainland

Supposedly 45% of the population lives in poverty.

And keep in mind, that's all before you remember this team is owned by Carmelo Anthony.

PRFC announced they have signed Adrian Whitbread to be manager (head coach) of their inaugural team. I think this is a great move. Whit was the Islanders' coach when the club folded. He knows the NASL and better, he knows Puerto Rico. His teams play flowing football. His last team beat Metapan and tied the Galaxy at JRL in the CONCACAF Champions League. Can't wait to buy my jersey and cheer for PRFC. They are off to a good start.

They seem to be making good, legitimate moves (more than previous expansion clubs). I wonder if Carmelo is seeing this club as being more of a tax write-off and hence not worried if it doesn't make much money in the first few seasons.

Just heard Carmelo is going big time with his GM. Expect an announcement soon with the hiring of Tom Payne, formerly of LA Galaxy.

Carmelo Anthony Appoints Tom Payne As First Team President In Puerto Rico FC's History

    http://www.nasl.com/news/2015/11/10...-tom-payne-as-puerto-rico-fcs-first-president

Carmelo Anthony, owner of the Puerto Rico Futbol Club, announces today that he has named Thomas Payne as the president of his new NASL organization. Payne is the former president of business operations of the LA Galaxy. Puerto Rico FC is scheduled to begin its first season at Juan Ramon Loubriel Stadium in the 2016 Fall Season.

We are excited to introduce Tom Payne as the newest addition to our front office staff,” Anthony said. “Tom brings a great deal of experience in the soccer space and I am looking forward to him utilizing his experience to bring PRFC to the front of the pack. He brings a unique approach and vision to the soccer business and we look forward to Puerto Rico Futbol Club under his leadership.”

Speaking of which; "Adrian Whitbread admits that Puerto Rico FC's progress has been a little "slow". Gee, ya think? Good to at least hear something from them, even if it is 'coming soon' information. They also need to get to work on their website, among other things.

they gave themselves quite the large window to sign their first player... At least we know who it will possibly be, Nat team captain Pito Ramos just got let go from the Dallas preseason camp and is in Puerto Rico again, so he will most likely be the first player signing.

I would think it would be difficult to get players signed this early when you are starting mid-season. Unless they are local, I would think most players would want to try and sign with a team playing the full season.

There is that international transfer window right before the fall season starts though.

"International transfer window"? Which one are you talking about? Transfer windows apply to players coming into particular leagues from other countries. The MLS summer transfer window is July 8-August 6. Is that the same for the NASL?

Sorry what I meant was the NASL's transfer window is the same time as other international leagues that have the apertua/clausera format. So during that time they will have to do a lot of work, but they'll have the opportunity at least.

When is the NASL transfer window? Is it the same as MLS?

July 8 to Sept 16 is what I found from FIFA for transfer windows. USSF may have made the window the same for both MLS and NASL.
