I just checked in to see if there was any good news. It's kind a like looking to see if Santa Claus came on December 23 when you were little kid you know it's not gonna happen but for some reason you have weird hope about it.
I'm just going to throw our my perspective on this article after having read the translation - it's all just hopeful speculation/propaganda on the part of the Tigres president. I don't think he is doing anything other than trying to get ahead of the message.
mlssoccer.com just posted the report dates for 19 teams. Aren't there 20 teams in the league right now? Oh, that's right, there are 19 teams in MLS and 1 major dumpster fire. Dead last before we even began... Amazing. http://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2016/...iday-nine-teams-reporting-ahead-2016-campaign
I'm sure it was just an oversight... what with the FO being so busy with Football Manager 2016 and all. Or maybe they've just thrown in the towel on 2016 since all of their intricate plans (plan A - Z) have failed miserably.
We have a special mention "The list will be filled out as the remaining club announce their full preseason plans"
Very clever of Bravo to secretly move back the start date of camp so that they can still achieve their goal of having the full squad ready for Pablo on Day #1. At least we have to put somebody on the field for our first exhibition match in Tucson on February 17th, so they've got 27 more days to get a training session in before the match.
Don't take this as a defense of the RFO because I agree that this offseason has really taken the debacle of a "professional" sports organization they purport to be to new depths of dysfunction.....but, if you look at the most current rosters per MLS' website (http://www.mlssoccer.com/rosters/2016) the Rapids aren't actually that far off from many other teams. In fact some teams have FEWER signed players than we do. Having said that, that shouldn't detract from the joke that the Vela/Pulido/Bedoya/Draft/Howard/etc. situations are/were
I don't know how much "weight" this article holds. It's the Tigres President who is saying a 2-6 month ban is in order. Until that is spit out by someone on the legal side -- like FIFA, Court of Arbitration for Sport, or MX Federation I would be suspicious of Tigres' President speaking on the matter.
ESPN adds If Pulido is indeed suspended, that will prevent the proposed move to the #Rapids. https://t.co/uCTl8p8Xa8— Jeff Carlisle (@JeffreyCarlisle) January 20, 2016
That's the same thing that was stated in that ESPN article a week or so ago: http://www.espnfc.com/story/2785463/roadblocks-remain-in-alan-pulidos-move-to-colorado-rapids
It looks like they are just hoping FIFA imposes a suspension. Otherwise I suppose any suspension is only legit in Mexico.
RFO forgot to send in the team dues for the season. As soon as the check clears, they'll be cleared to play.
His next plan is to have the season moved back to the summer transfer window so they can try to sign some new players before the start of camp.
MLS website says we have 21 of 28 roster spots filled and 6 unsigned draft picks. So...wtf we have 27 players with a weak frontline and no fullbacks.
It wouldn't really be that hard. A couple, three, a dozen YCs later and there would only be an indoor rec team of Pablos on the pitch.
OK, I need to fess up. I'm being considered for RB. Yep. Hey, I played it back in the day. I can still hobble around on a semi-rebuilt ACL and can usually go a half or so. I haven't scored a goal since '12, but I had a couple assists last year. I don't freelance much and I can mark a few players. Whatcha think? At least good bench strength?
I think you'll be pushing the starters for minutes. Work hard at practice and you could be marking Didier Drogba in a few months.
Burling is also one of the leading returning attackers: 1. 5 goals...Doyle 2. 3 goals...Powers, Serna 3. 2 goals...Burling, Badji, Sarvas
Either you or it will be a STH "Perk", Who wants to play Outside Back this game... I can see the Intro, STH of 7 years XXX YYYYY is starting at LB.
So, has anybody heard anything about training camp? I find it really hard to believe they don't have a set date, though this is the Rapids we're talking about I guess! They MUST plan on gathering the team on a specific set date, which has been communicated to all players and staff, but just haven't told mlssoccer.com (or the supports if they ever do) yet. Really, they must...?
If nothing has changed ... Bravo stated in an earlier interview that it starts tomorrow: "... come January 22 when we get them into camp."
