    The Brazilian FA has decided that all pitches in Brazil's top two divisions (Série A & Série B) must have the same size (105 by 68 metres).

    Are there stadiums that aren't big enough to accommodate the new standard? Maracana had to shrink their field to comply with FIFA standards for the WC.

    Brazilian stadiums traditionally had immensely wide pitches, it added to the difficulty of long passes and jogo bonito.
