I wonder what lit a fire under FAS, because they defeated Metapan 2-1 in the semi final first leg. Walter Martinez scored both goals for FAS while Paolo Suarez scored for Metapan.
This is exactly the mentality allowing 6 teams to qualify for the playoffs creates. Fas basically turned it off at the end of their season and weren't punished for it. Now they have a real shot of being in the final. As if our players needed any more help in taking it easy
It'd be pretty risky to just switch off until the finals come along, and it's also disrespectful to the fans that are attending the games. I hope FAS isn't actually doing it on purpose, though. Anyway, I'm cheering on Metapan to defeat FAS and go to the final against, hopefully, Alianza.
I am not saying it's that blatant but I do think much like we have seen in Guatemala players won't go all out in games because they know that losing a few games won't really matter and that's the worst mentality to build in players. It's a whole different mentality when there is less room for error
Alianza v Aguila had an attendance of 19, 150 people Ricardo Serrano will continue to coaching Chalatenango, his contract was extended after helping chalatenango reach the quarterfinals External links: http://www.elgrafico.com/2015/12/12/serrano-seguira-con-los-duros-del-norte

Devastated that Aguila is out. But this right here is just shades of the Fito Zelaya that got him to Russia. Can't hate on him. That's a big time goal.
Semi Final second leg results Isidro Metapan 0-0 FAS (FAS pregress to the grand final after winning the two leg series 2-1) Highlights: Well FAS truly deserves there spot in the final, they beat both last tournament champions and runners up on their road to the grand final. FAS have clicked back into gear and the form that saw them dominate the first division for several weeks at the start of the tournament. No coincidence that their return of their form coincide with national team regulars coming back to play regular minutes and the return of Honduran Walter Martinez whose experience and talent is still evident despite his ageing body hampering parts of this campaign. As Metapan dearey me they had everything going for them playing at home, only needing one goal to progress and having experience in playing situation like this. However they couldn't convert and what made it worst Henry Hernandez got himself sent off making the task that much harder, 10 man short and Francisco Jovel Alvarez forced to play in goals (after all three substition had been made) there was no miracle. Aguila 2-2 Alianza (Aguila goalscorers: Nicolas Munoz 50 min, Deris Umanzor 66 min; Alianza goalscorers: Juan Carlos Portillo 18 min, Rodolfo Zelaya 69 min) Alianza go to the final after winning the series 3-2 Highlights: Alianza truly deserved to progress, they were the better side over the two legs. Comparison between the sides were the goals alianza were a network of passing and great finishing, while aguila came both errors and set pieces. Aguila hardly looked threatening in open play and I said months ago that Aguila are can leak goals early and late in a game and sadly for aguila this happened today. Its back to the drawing board for Aguila. Meanwhile, Alianza intent in both games was to play to their strength which was attack and fortunately for them it worked, but I worry about their defense frailties both goals of Aguila could have been avoided and it almost cost them dearly. I have to give credit where credit is due Zelaya really stood up in the semi final series, he worked his butt in getting into position and creating the space for his midfielders to thread balls through. If we can get him doing this on a regular basis then perhaps the calls for a national team callups will be justified. Was hoping for Metapan to go to the final, but congrats to FAS. I hope that tackle HH did against Pena was nothing serious, because I want Pena to get all the game time he can get, same for Lemus, Jairo* and Villavicencio. Not really sure who I want to win out of FAS or Alianza, but I would love to see Fito Zelaya at the CCL. Good to see that he's had a good season, so hopefully he can do even better next season. *What's the latest on Jairo Henriquez? Is he still injured?
Boring Final. Alianza did what they had to do though. Good for Rodrigo Rivera and JC Portillo. Those boys and Juventud Indep. should have really won a title in the time the Cerens and Toscanini were there. Hope they both get a spot on the NT next year.
