They train hard on hacking...didn't you notice Beasley at his young tender age....he made a mark.

But, your team made sure the major hacks didn't get hte chance to dive, whine, bitch, or hurt...totally outclassed.

At least Razov could have gotten to Twellman and or Ralston:) Cheers....it will be a fun playoff.

Game was over at this point of action however. if it was meaningful in any way....to save a game winning goal..something...but it was obver. It was a very pure classless act. Sad. He will regret this in the morning.

I wasn't refering to the Fire fans. You guys are great. I'm talking about Ante, Hristo, Nowak, Breakalega, etc. I always look forward to the good-natured banter from you guys here on BS whenever we're facing your team.

I think you owe Heaps some flowers, at the least, if that's the case!

I couln't see what happened too well from where I was sitting.

Is there video of this posted somewhere?

No that I need anymore evidence why I think this guy is the biggest idiot in MLS.

I'm certainly not trying to defend what Rasov did, but if he would have at least gotten a yellow for kicking Heaps in Chicago he may have at least thought about this before he did this. The refs really need to clamp down on the violent play.

Go figure Ante Razov. Good player, streaky finisher. The kind of guy you'd generally like to have on your team.

But in six playoff games against the Revs the guy's comitted three red-cardable offenses (although he was only actually carded for one).

Is it just the Revs? If so, what gives (did he once get a speeding ticket driving through in RI or something)?

If not, what exactly is this guy's problem?!

What impressed me was the Revs' restraint at not just beating Razov up. You could hear Nicol going crazy on the sidelines, afraid somebody from the Revs would go in and needlessly get a red as well. Heaps reacted immediately, and I'm glad the ref didn't give him a yellow for retaliation. It was just such a nasty thing Ante did, who wouldn't lash out.

What struck me just as much was the way he strutted around the whole area looking down at Heaps and basically trying to lure someone else into the fray. It's almost too bad that this was the eliminating game. I would've liked to see him miss a playoff game instead of the beginning of next season. Then his team REALLY would give him hell.

What Ante did was truely classless and uncalled for. Point ended.

As far as all the other comments about diving, pushing, tripping. That goes completely both ways. And Heaps was the biggest offender of cheap shots, whinning and crying for the whole series. I know our guys do it too. I am not defending that. But take a step back and critique your own players just a bit, please.
Anway, well deserved win. Good luck against the Crew.

I know I'm not a regular poster here, but - if I may -I believe Rev fans are notorious for "critiquing their own players". :) Give us a chance to enjoy the first bit of real success EVER.

Check out some of the posts after Sunday's game. People weren't exactly coming out of the woodwork to defend Llamosa's boneheaded move.

Ante may have ended his national team career. He's already on the fringe as it is. This didn't help matters.

    Brilliant minds think alike...

I was in row 2, behind the bench and when he came over then I yelled "Hey Razov, have a nice vacation!" and he started yapping back. Can you imagine what kind of idiot argues with fans of the other team in their own stadium? Scratch that, we've got a few of them in this league, notably that Fat Bastard in KC, who has to wipe the barbecue sauce on his sleeve, and the Metros assistant coach to name two...

Auntie got what he deserves. Also Bradley deserves a whack upside the head for his backpedaling around the guaranteeing victory prediction that he and Jamaaaah's brother made. He got pissed and told me to turn off my tape recorder, so I'm not at liberty to talk about "off the record" comments. On the record however, at first he was denying what the article said, claiming that what they meant was if they got past the Revs, they'd be in the finals (taking a swipe at Columbus like that is basically the same thing). Still, if the paper misinterpreted their remarks, don't get on my case for bringing the topic up.

Sure, it sucks to lose to such a vastly inferior team who completely played you off the pitch in 2 out of 3 games, but c'mon Bob, be a man and admit that it wasn't your night!

    Nope.

Who knows? Was he picked on as a kid?

I do know that he's got a long history of reacting to opposing fans. It seems every time he comes into Crew Stadium he can be seen jawing with some fan or another. Once at Soldier Field we had about 20 Crew fans there for a match, and when he scored against us he came flying over to where we were to taunt us. I can understand taunting visiting fans, but there were only 20 of us!

The guy is almost as big a nutcase as Mathis. Almost.

Ante an a$$ plain and simple. At the season ticket holder meet the team get together a few years ago he was nasty to my nephew and a few other kids because they asked for his autograph outside the official signing area. I’d like to trade him back to Spain for a few water bottles and a clack board to be named later.

    Kevin

PS Good luck on you way to the Cup!

I have an easier time excusing getting into it with opposing fans, but to be nasty to kids who have the unmitigated audacity to admire a player and ask for an autograph, that's inexcusable, especially in a sport that is trying to gain a foothold in this country.

Fortunately, the vast majority of MLS players seem to be good guys and are generally very accommodating to fans.

A good friend of mine here in LA used to play with and against him in AYSO and Club teams in LA and said he was always a whiny ,temper tantrum throwing, a-hole.

He must have just been born like that...

  22. Failure. Ante's stupid action was classless, and an embarassment to the team, the organization, and the fans.

Sad to say, the Revs were clearly the better team this week. They wanted it more, played harder, and played better.

I feel like I've never been able to say that about other playoff losses we've had. I too, wish you all the best of luck, and would like to see your hard times end. (please don't let LA get a trophy!)

Having said that, I find the negative remarks about the rest of the team unnecessary. Take your frustration out on Ante. The rest of the team played as hard (and dirty) as any other team in the league (including the Revs, yes, even in this series). Be happy that the worst thing you can say about the Fire and to us fans is that you simply have the better team.

And thank you Crew fans for your pleasant, relevant, and thoughtful comments here...

Er, I'm all for the free exchange of ideas and such, but would anyone mind changing the title of this thread just a bit?

It's only metaphorical I know, but frankly it gives me the creeps...

    countrywide attention?

here in san diego, they don't broadcast mls news since we don't have a team, but our local sports news made a big deal out of razov's stomping on heaps. they even showed a clip of how it was, although i was a nanosecond late to really see it (i was channel-surfing). anyway, that's how big this supposedly classless act of razov is. the newscasters were pretty disgusted about it, too.

and rodan, i see your point. someone definitely should retitle this thread.

    ciao!
