    Suspensions:

If we get one away goal in NY, this series is very likely done and dusted.

Only truly deserved card should have gone to Dax. But there wasn't even a foul called. He let both sides play, and that worked out well. Sacha is a bit of a whiner, isn't he?

What a 2-0 win. Defense does something that we were not expecting. Good start to the Eastern Conference Finals

Dax should easily have been carded when he slid in late on Afful early in the 1st half, which caused Afful to step off the field for a minute. That foul was called but no card given. I don't remember a second yellow card-worthy offense from McCarty, though.

Maybe we'll actually see the Crew go with two strikers in an effort to get early away goal?

This. We score one goal, and NY has to beat us 4-1 in regulation. ********in-a.

I like it. The best defense is a good offense.

Afful not getting a yellow, no injuries, no away goals, scoring twice. Not sure it gets much better.

We gave up the ball way too cheaply and still looked like the better team.

And that quick goal followed by a lot of good opportunities must have really rattled NY because they were frustrated in that first half and we seemed to be in their heads during that time.

Can't believe we didn't burn ourselves with our terrible turnovers. We tighten that up during training this week, grab one road goal during the game and then hang on to it all for dear life.

    We're not done yet...

That was fun! Going to be a very interesting second leg. Red Bull will be pissed. We set ourselves up very well for a good result in that next game. Now everyone just needs to become Portland fans for a couple of games.

I will say it seems like we played the ball less to Clark than we have in the past. He seems to play the ball with his feet way more often and I wonder if that was intentional or just a byproduct of the game.

Great win. Quick question about the announcing, do you think Twellman's favorite blow up doll is named Red Bull?

According to Serial, the best defense is a good defense.

Best start we could realistically hope for. No away goals. No injuries that I'm aware of. Only card went to Wahl.

This was the result I was both hoping for and dreading. I'm hopeful because a 2-0 lead, a shutout, is MASSIVE. We can use it to dictate terms in the first half and play offensively, to get an early goal. Terrifying, because if we push for that goal and we give one up, we're looking at the return of my ulcer...

Yeah, tonight was a win, even when Tchani had an off night. And I am happy to be home and warm.
