Uruguay is beating Chile 3 - 0  ... the fact that we are the only team to beat Argentina and Uruguay, during these first four matches, makes Ecuador look very GOD-LIKE !!

I think you did? lol. I always was a fan but man... he has gotten way better. Stepped up big to cover A. Valencia spot. He is more dangerous too since he isn't scared of shooting.

Man, that Caicedo goal... Montero breaks the defender's ankles, slips in a beautiful cross and Caicedo smashes it home in the top left corner. That was such an awesome goal. You could tell they sort of went into auto-pilot towards the end, otherwise this one could have been much uglier for VZ. What a fantastic start to the year.

On top of that, Colombia is in meltdown who we face in March, when the Valencias and Mina will be back. Let's keep the momentum going!!!

Did he want Gareca also? I guess we all see futbol differently but IMO Peru were awful during Copa America.

Quinteros will have some decisions to make next year.

    1) Antonio Valencia will probably be back and no one can disagree that he is a starter no matter what and we are a better team with him, unfortunately this means that we'll need to bench........
    2) Fidel Martinez This guy started due to 3 key injuries in the same position, he did well, I have always defended him but I admit I liked him better as a 9 or left wing, man he shut me up, so does he go back to be 3rd string? (after Valencia or Ibarra) or is he more of a forward option but by then gues what.......
3)Enner Valencia Will be back, we all know he is a likely starter? but how? Caicedo is playing the best futbol in his career and after today he is the leading WCQ scorer no? so who does he bench?
    4) Miller Bolanos It's no secret he is sponsored by Quinteros and love him or hate him his play is not dissapointing at all, actually he has a very interesting position which is hard to describe, but will he start over Enner or Felipe?
    5) Pedro Quinonez, He is constantly our weakest link, his fouls are alarming and contributes very little to our offense,

I really hope Paredes and Noboa dont pick up a yellow against Paraguay we're going to need them against Colombia. I do hope Quinonez gets a yellow so we get to see someone else step up and take that starting spot from him.

Yup if Paredes gets a yellow we could put Valencia back there and Martinez on the wing. If Noboa get a yellow his presence will be missed the most, Castillo will most likely sub in. Quinonez surprisingly hasn't already been suspended. I expect Gruezo to be called up next time round just as a precaution.

Paredez will be replaced by Tono I agree, although he is a pretty clean player, now if Noboa is injured that's bad news although I am sure Cevallos Jr will be called up on March but I do not think Castillo can cover Noboas function, Noboa is our creation Mid so I am thinking Cazares would be a good option but a dangerous one.

Valencia is out for 6 months. I doubt he will be ready.

I was under the impression that it was up to 5 months, knowing Valencia, he'll be fine in four. I hope

I must say these ñaños are surprising everyone. They are playing with confidence and pressing the ball which could lead to counter attacks but our defense has been solid.

These past four games were exciting and more entertaining then ever. As one person mentioned already that 26 points would put us in a great position to qualify we have to remember that Brazil is back in the mix and there are 2 more games to be played this time around. Let's take it one game at a time before we qualify them to the World Cup.

One thing I'm worried about, Ecuador when they are favorites those boys don't know how to handle that pressure and responsibility of playing like one.

With these 4 wins I'm pretty sure we will move up in FIFA rankings.

This was huge for us. Unprecedented success from an unlikely source. In terms of scoring potential, our team no longer appears one-dimensional with many guys on the scoresheet. Caicedo is turning into that guy we've always wanted- amazing how it took him that long, but it seems like he MIGHT be reaching his best futbol (lets hope it lasts). All of this was done without Toño or Enner...another huge outcome!

    Conclusions:

    Our Striker/Forward/Midfield is solid enough

Our defense still needs to improve

We're not perfect and need to remember that...humility and focus first and foremost (emotional intelligence)

Thus far, I am happy...and cautiously optimistic. One game at a time, though...

To me all the Ecuadorean game announcers are hacka annoying most of the time. I'm also sick and tired of ads going on when there is a goal and stuff as well. Worst televised game broadcast I see often compare to BeIN and others. I do like how they detail the game though as it goes on. They are very good at that. I just wish that Ecuadorean broadcast was upgraded big time. Anyways, I still can't believe this is happening haha.

These ones are hilarious, if we can pull it off i'd like to see same from Colombiano and Chileno commentators. I remember last time the Colombian commentator said this game was winnable (vs Ecuador in Quito) not to long Chucho scored the game winning goal.

No way we can drop Fidel from the right wing spot. He's absolutely what we need. Maybe this is the opportunity to bring Antonio Valencia central again in place of Pedro Quinonez. I think long-term this is the best position for him. I don't think he will ever go back to being a RW in the EPL.
