Boston University leads UConn 1-0 at halftime.

New England Revolution product Felix da Bona with the goal (his 9th) mid-way through the 1st half. Not exactly against the run of play, but fair to say UConn had more scoring chances in the first half.

UConn took over in the second half and won 3-1. More to the point, Jr. MF Kwame Awuah - yet another Sigma kid - took over, assisting the tying goal by DeAndre Brown with a nifty run then scoring the next two goals.

He's a really good little player.

BU is a good team. They possessed the ball a lot and created chances and were organized defensively. UConn had better athletes and better technical players.

Worth noting that BU's big No. 10 Amirani was hurt for this one and didn't play. He's their best player - the type to settle & control a game in midfield.

Awuah is a good player I think as a pro and how he was used with Sigma was as a FB although it was interesting to see him more used upfront. The interesting thing is Sigma also had Akron's Richie Laryea his brother, Larin, Evansville Mark Anthony Gonzalez and a number of other more athletic players so Awuah was more a defensive captain in the back then a player who provided a lot on offense.

BTW shame on NCAA not staggering the games throughout the day.

He looks like he'd make a tremendous left back in MLS.

The running joke is that Canada has lots of left backs in their system, in the youth teams and senior team. Right backs? Absolutely none at any level. We don't have a single right back, whether it's the senior team or olympic team.

It's baffling. So of course Awuah is a LB. And while Sigma gets all the credit for him, he went back and forth between TFC academy and Sigma a few times.

Dartmouth-Hartwick scoreless at the half but you gotta love the small-market sports anchor vibe being sent off by the PxP guy.

Deserved - the funny thing at College recruiting camps the younger players looked even more exciting then the guys currently in the system (outside of Larin).

This is the group Sigma is apart of - http://www.academysoccer.ca/ the other clubs are following Sigma example so there should be a lot of D1 players from Ontario who are doing well over the next few years.

The funny thing is the main soccer organization and the Academy are at odds because the OSA wants all clubs to deal with players at a younger age and the Academy and TFC main interest is players 15 to 17. OSA is starting a competitive league OPDL and If things happen quicker here there could be issues and big battle including Sigma potentially being a rogue team from the OSA but in classic Canadian fashion everyone is very conservative so I think things will stay status quo for the next few years at least.

There is driving rain at Hofstra tonight, so there can't be live video. There is still audio at the same link I posted above.

Rain and puddles of standing water making play ugly and difficult in Piscataway, NJ for LIU-Broooklyn and Rutgers. LIU leading 1-0 with 4 minutes left in the first half.

Drake - Kentucky 1-1 at the half. Drake with 11 shots to 4 for UK. Both teams scored off corners, Drake's from a rebound.

Both teams missing four starters to injury.
