yea, revs beat the crew 2-1-1. remember the 4-1 blowout on july 4th (sorry for the pun), or the first game of the year at crew stadium, where the revs blanked them 2-0, and thats with Sommer in net!. You did get a win, what a fluke win it was. and then the tie, a well played game by both. Otherwise, you guys are screwed.

Congrats on your win, you deserved it.

Good luck the rest of the way, we will be pulling for you. All of you, except Duggan, who stomped on our groin in the Fire boards.

Seriously, you guys played with class, I find no way to hate you (except Frappachino), so I wish you well against the cowpies.

    Kick some Ass.

WTF is a Supah? Is that like a janitor?

LOL..if you're serious here it's our incorporation of a Boston accent into "super", plus it sounds better chanted supah than super.

What a great night that was. Take that tag off of Nicol's back right now...hes got this team rollin'!

That was a lot of fun!!!!

Hernandez was brilliant; Heaps, Kante and Brown were outstanding. Ralston played his best game of the series. Especially loved the way they just passed it around late in the 1st half.

I was in 118 (behind the south goal). It was really interesting to watch from that perspective. Among other things, late-ish in the 2nd half, Heaps got cleared out by Razov (I think, but if so, it wasn't the red card incident), and as he strolled down to collect the ball, he looked at the fans, then at Razov and a made a wanker gesture.

How delightful! We've seen the last of the Naperville Whinery and Diving Club for the year. Almost everytime one of them fell down, he got a whistle out of, but fortunately, that was all they did well tonight.

The Razov red in stoppage time was the icing on the cake! What a punk!

Is it me or is Damarcus Beasley turning into a dirty player? He didn't have any vicsious tackles like he did last Thursday, but he seems to spend a lot of time grabbing and pushing.

Has Stoichkov every played well in Foxboro in a Fire shirt?

I've been present for all 3 Revs playoff wins. I sure hope they can do it without me on Sunday.

    Dear Diary,

I dreamed that nobody else believed we won that game last week, either, so they made us play it again. But it was exactly the same the second time. Then I woke up in a soft drizzle in a big stadium and the scoreboard was saying something about a "semi-final". Any idea what that is?

    Love,

Starting off with tonight's postgame TV coverage...

WLVI TV 56 - 10 PM news...showed the goals and Stoichkov head-to-head with Heaps "playing head games" - good crowd shots as well

    Ch 7 WHDH 11 PM
    - Gene Lavanchy teased the upcoming sportscast with the Revs saying "The Revs go somewhere they have never gone before, I'll tell you about it coming up"

    - said "Revolution marches on...Revs put out the Fire...advance to semis"

-Showed goals, Adin Brown over the bar save

    - Taylor and Kamler interviews
Taylor: " it's huge, but there's a feeling in the lockerroom that it's not over"
Kamler: "First 3/4 of the year we didn't have much luck, we are now making our own luck" (paraphrasing)

    - good crowd shot also

Ch 5 WCVB - showed goals, Adin's over the bar save and Razov's stomp on Heaps.

Ch 4 WBZ - missed sportscast but caught Bob Lobel ending it saying "Revolution, Revolution, Revolution"

Bob did the the pre-Sports teaser wearing a Revolution sticker across his chest, much to the amusement of the anchors. He seemed relatively enthusiastic.

    On to game comments...

    YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

Hernandez to Twellman - what a play what a finish!

Heaps, Brown and Kante were huge again.

Some scary moments on defense here and there. I was sitting on the edge of my seat (well, I was nervous when standing too). I was afraid Rusty was going to lose his cool and get carded. Curious about the Franchino card situation. Was this # 2 or # 3?

Can't figure out what's going through Razov's head. I can understand being frustrated, but there's no reason for a player to stomp on someone like that. No reason. Just horrible. A player that stepped up for the US National Team during qualifying and scores some good goals and then he does things like this (or the Wright hairpull/slap). I just don't get it.

Anyone know the attendance? I was hoping we'd have more, but it's still a last minute sell when you have to wait for results of Game 2. Add in that it's a weekday with the threat of rain...Regardless, it was great to see a lot of die hards there again. I love hearing the whole crowd get into it when the Fort gets us going. Music to my ears. Wolde joined in with the Rev-o-lu-tion chants during starting lineup announcements and at the end of the game as well. I love seeing that.

To those that decided to leave early - ignoring our pleas (please stay, you can't leave now, we've waited 7 years for this!) - you missed out on the celebration.

Another fun match to attend. Can't wait for Sunday!

    YEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!

The only problem with that theory is that recent history is not a very good indicator of future results.

Case in point: The Dallas Burn were 2-1-1 against the Rapids during the regular season, and were 2-0 at the Cotton Bowl. (3-0 if you count the US Open Cup quarterfinal. 4-0 if you count Game 1 of the playoffs, as well.)

    Random Thoughts:

    - YEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!!

    - How about a round of applause for Rusty Pierce, who played a gutty 45 minutes. He was... well... rusty. A little shaky, but he got the job done.

    - Who are you, and what have you done with Brian Kamler? Never mind. I don't want to know.

    - Am I the only one whose heart no longer skips a beat when the other team gets the ball near the top of our box? Llamosa, Kante, and Adin Brown are all immense. Right NOW, I wouldn't trade Brown for any keeper in the league.

    - Can someone over at Revs Headquarters please end the charade and remove Stevie Wonder's "interim" tag?

    - What can you say about the play of Danny Hernandez? He's been terrific lately. I hope we find a way to keep him happy and in a Revs jersey for a long, long time.

    - Enjoy the offseason, Ante.

    - If the league doesn't suspend Razov for the beginning of next season, they've just given a license to players to maim the opposition in a playoff series that's already decided.

    - Speaking of members of the Fire organization that p*ssed me off this week, DaMarcus Beasley and Bob Bradley can kiss my big, fat, sweaty, smelly, hairy, red-white-and-blue posterior.

    - From now on, I swear to never, EVER share my less than positive feelings about an upcoming game with the group. As my brother reminds me, "You've got a bad feeling about every game."

    - That said, having watched the San Jose series, I wouldn't book our proverbial reservations for the final just yet. C-bus is playing some good stuff at the moment. We're gonna have our hands full with their outside speed and their bigger forwards.

    - Enjoy the win, boys. But remember there's more work ahead of us.

    - YEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!

    Wow!

MOTM - Kamler. Not just the goal, but great play on the left and in the center in the second half.

A close #2 - Heaps. The guy is getting better and better.

#3 - Wolde. Not just working hard, but a genuine threat with no let up. Got his first standing O I believe when subbed out.

    HM - Kante, Brown

Many thanks to the fort - you guys are inspirational, and we loved the chants.

Thanks to the Fire fans for the good wishes - they are sincerely appreciated.
