Amazing, the things great vision can accomplish. Mr. Hale and the Blast staff are simply the best. Hands down. GO BLAST!!!
The best front office in the league; and one of the best in the North American, league notwithstanding. GO BLAST!!!
Yes, I figured it might be. After most people were out of school and work on Tuesday for the Royals World Series parade, I wondered if all the excitement from the week caused some to stay home. We sat in the end terrace and it was pretty full, but we were surrounded by youth soccer teams. By the second half, a lot of those teams had left because I heard them say they had games to play at 9am and 10am on Saturday morning. Due to the Mavericks hockey taking up most Saturday nights, the Comets home opener was pushed to a Friday night. For some reason I remember in previous years that the home openers were usually on Saturday nights. The first Saturday night game for the Comets isn't until Jan 2 so I hope that it doesn't kill the attendance figures for the Comets this year.
The "Parade of Champions" before the game was quite possibly the largest they ever had. I'd say well in the hundreds of kids on the field.
Meaning I figured it would be lower after I saw the crowd on Friday night. I expected there to be more people there and when they announced the number in the arena, I thought it was low compared to what I had seen previous years. I was surprised that there weren't more people there, but I attributed it to the World Series hype of the week combined with youth soccer games early Saturday morning.
Great crowd in Baltimore. Way bigger than last years home opener, right? I wanted to go to the game, but I went to the Messiah College women's soccer conference final vs Arcadia instead. Cost me $5 rather than $22-$40.
Blast lose in the finals more often than the Sounders. (9,442 was Baltimore's biggest announced crowd since 2/18/2012, 36 home games ago, when they drew 9,644 for a game against Milwaukee.)
Friday, November 13, 2015: Missouri @ Dallas - 1,750 Las Vegas @ Saltillo - no report (shocking!) Tacoma @ Turlock - 300
lol! Atrocious start in Dallas...no feed as well. I did watch the Stars Turlock second half and the stream was great. How come Tacoma wore a solid blue shirt? No diamonds?? That road jersey should be the flip of the home jersey as in the past!
Yeah that sucks. The Stars traditional road blues looked even better than the home white. Indoor soccer always seems to screw up a good thing.
Not sure why Tacoma did not have the same away jersey, as the home, only in blue. But their away jersey still looks better and more professional than those Waza T-shirts.
Saturday, November 14, 2015 Chicago @ St. Louis - 5,368 Waza Flo @ Milwaukee - 3,228 Las Vegas @ Brownsville - 1,000 (exactly) Missouri @ Harrisburg - 1,911 Ontario @ Sonora - 4,621 Syracuse @ Baltimore - 4,140 Tacoma @ Sacramento - 450
Disappointing home opening crowd in Harrisburg in comparison to 2014. 1911 according to Pointstreak vs 4126 last year. That's down nearly 54%. Neto was a No Show. He wouldn't have made a difference. The Comets were clearly the superior team. Perhaps the fans anticipated the outcome and decided not to come. I suppose that losing 11-1 ultimately doesn't look as bad as 22-2 though. Right?
