It was pretty incredible how much LPB were back on their heels. Their goal was sheer luck and an awful decision by the PSG keeper. Good game by PSG but poor finishing, especially Cavani.

    Benzema's lawyer:

"Karim wishes to put an end to all the polemics that have emerged following this case, in which he has played no part whatsoever,"

"When his name first emerged in the press, Karim immediately made it clear that he was standing at the disposal of investigators.

"Karim went to Versailles to answer some questions, but he has absolutely not done anything wrong. He has nothing to hide.

"He is happy and quite satisfied to be able to finally end this painful controversy."

I have to say I'm quite enjoying this Benzema scandal. Good to see some shit hit the fan for them.
It's hilarious how most of the Spanish media is bending over backwards to not make it a big deal. . Its not even the main story on most sport shows. I swear, I saw more coverage of the "Halloween-gate"!

Main pundits pleading for "presumption of innocence" which in itself is good, but
when it was Messi or Masch who were in trouble, they were all for hanging them right away.

And if it was Neymar or Alves or, God forbid, Pique involved ins something similar, they'd have a field day with this. If Pique had been sent to jail we'd have 24/7 coverage of his house, the jail, interviews with neighbors and "former friends" and overall public shaming.

Want to know who will be getting a lot of coverage? This guy has a film coming out in a few days: http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/nov/05/cristiano-ronaldo-film-messi

I only post it here, because the review actually made me curious enough to watch a movie I wouldn't normally want to see. Perhaps it's because I want to see how he really views Messi, and it was the last line paragraph that got to me. I didn't realize the obsession was to that extent.

What bothered me from that article was this ...

At one point his mother, Dolores, is filmed inside a chemist’s handing in a prescription for sedatives because she can barely take the stress of watching him play. Ronaldo rings and asks if she has taken her tranquillisers yet, as if he is quite used to it. “Its quite complicated to be the mother of a player who needs to win,” Dolores explains. “I suffer a lot.

She needs sedatives to watch him play ? That's stressful ? WTF !!!

I'd say his obsession is not with Messi per say, just at being the best. Messi just happens to be in the way :D

What surprises me is that they have been busting each other's balls in the background while ignoring each other's existence in public. Not that they ever really hated each other like Senna x Prost. That rivalry had some real hot blood.

Yeah that was actually very strange about his mother. Yeah, that is a bit weird, they really do ignore each other publicly, and I wonder if that is more with the PR. So that people can get into these "Ronaldo- Messi" debates. I suppose if they were friends, then people wouldn't get so heated about it. Love one, both or none of them, I don't think they would be as great as they are, if it weren't for the other player. I think they push each other. I don't know why it's so hard for people to say that they are both great players, whilst acknowledging Messi is better. ;)

If you think about it, how many people have you seen (talking about fans) that actually state that they are both great. It's always "oh so and so is better at attribute x, but not attribute y".

What was that whole thing about Ronaldo and Perez before the CL match? That was a bit weird lol.

Big away derby win for Cologne over Neverkusen after a bad three week spell which included ouster from the Pokal.
The Billy Goats now just a point off a Europa League spot.

Hoping Sevilla makes it tough for LPB today...dropped points would be nice.
