Remy saves Mou's ass in the 90th minute. At least for 30 more minutes. Stoke with 10 players, what was it that Mou said about not winning against 11 rivals?
11 Man Chelsea lose to 10 Man Stoke on PKs, 5-4, Hazard shot the one which did not score, Chelsea fans are up in arms that he is trying to sabotage Mou for publicly dressing him down. Love it. Roman would like Mou to quit I guess but is less sure about buying out his remaining rich contract.
Something something cold rainy Tuesday night in Stoke. This weekend: Will José's Chelsea career finally go ker-Klopp down the toilet?
Real Madrid got a €10M hidden grant from the City Council, according to EU investigation [Spanish] Short version of the article: LPB received lands from the city as part of a deal some years ago. It was later found out that the city wasn't within its rights to give that land to LPB, so they bought it back at a value that gave LPB a cool 3,700% profit.
Well since they expanded Champions League to as many as 4 or (due to Sevilla's Europa win) even 5 clubs per league, CL really does function as a bit of a super league, though the elimination format after group stage means only 2 clubs play 13 matches, and some who make the group stage play only 6.
Not really. I mean, Barca won the title fairly easily in 2008-9 but that was not expected when the season began. Then the following season the title came down to the final day. And of course Pep didn't win at all in 1 of the 4 seasons at Barca. So pretty far from the situation at Bayern for the past 3-4 seasons when people expected them to run away with it and each time in fact they did cruise to the title with many games to spare.
fair enough. madrid certainly pushed us hard those years, and bayern has no one consistently challenging them like that. but i'm pretty sure i remember a number of people - mostly EPL fanboys - calling LaLiga boring and uncompetitive back then, such was our dominance.
Good read about jumping the shark, nuking the fridge, firing the doctor, tossing the gilet (means vest basically), and signing the duck (Pato). http://www.theguardian.com/football/blog/2015/oct/30/alex-pato-premier-league-corinthians-sao-paulo
While that's funny, I'd still rather gamble on a 26 year old Pato than an 35 year old Kuyt. Does Bartomeu have any daughters?
Wth Barcelona don't need any of them, they need someone to put in opponents area in 85th min who's 190cm and not Pique [emoji19]
Yeah, but when people talk about "Super league" I think (and I could be wrong) they mean that the clubs participating in it would not partake in the domestic championship. Thus the leagues of each country would be a lot more open. Also when viewed by themselves I don't see how a super league would be better for us, the fans, than the CL. The knockout stage of CL is exciting because of the format. If those same 16 teams played everyone twice for a total of 30 matches ==> yawn . I also have trouble seeing how a super league could ever happen from a political perspective.
Is Cesc the Chelsea 'mole' anti-Mourinho? Good story if true, but why then would he have lured Pedro there? I mean was Jose really different last year? http://www.thesportbible.com/articles/mourinho-s-enemy-in-the-chelsea-camp-has-been-outed
Cesc has come out denying this story. My theory is that the Hazard people brought up Cesc to distract the public from earlier rumors related to the Belgian. Or maybe Cesc is trying to antagonize Mourinho more by denying a story and professing his allegiance to the coach that everyone knows to be true. It is not right to laugh at someone with undiagnosed mental illness like Jose but I can't help but find this whole thing amusing. In all seriousness though, Cesc and Pedro really should have known better after watching his breakdown at Madrid.
Yeah, both Cesc and Pedro are under contract until the summer of 2019! Same as Mourinho. Of course they can always hope to get transferred out of Chelesa, but given that they're both on the downside of their careers I doubt any top teams will come calling. MEh.... that's what you get when you're spoiled and can't recognize when you're in a pretty good situation.
LPB kinda dominated by PSG who has had great chances bit LPB lead from a lucky, shot, pass or whatever it was... Jeee!
Seems CSKA and Stoke Utd are involved in another thriller. Why is Rooney still starting every match and playing more than Martial and Memphis? Good thing for Man City and Sevilla otherwise there would be nothing worthwhile to watch right now. Just like Matchday 3 when Groups A-D played. Edit: And of course that had to happen. Still... Martial could have finished that too. LPB & Man City first teams to ssecure a place in the knockout stage. PSG, Benfica, Atleti and Juve each have 9 toes in the knockout phase. Only Group B looks remotely interesting among the groups in action today.
