Any reason why Seattle had less people in a playoff game vs regular season game? On a side note, I was a Drogba fan until yesterday...he should sign up with LAFC so he will be closer to his second job a Hollywood. How does someone play 90 with that number of bad passes and screw ups...

That (I think it was like 39,500) was a pretty 'normal' attendance for them. Over the course of the regular season they have a few games (Cascadia, sometimes LA) where they'll open up more seats to get to the 44k average you see.

It's incredible that they're still trying to make a mockery of our league. But, I couldn't resist the click.

i would take that in a heart-beat in vancouver- we have the capacity, but dont have an ownership group with the vision

I told you guys it wasn't worth it...

You know, if we were petty, we could point to the '14 WC and remind them who got to the second round and who was eliminated in an almost mathematically impossible two games.

Save that for when MLS transfers Lampard and Gerrard back to Rotherham United... ;)

Didn't Kerfoot have a vision...but the city shot him down cold?

kerfoot and his partners had a vision for a SSS on the waterfront- due to safety reasons (the stadium would be built over rail tracks), the area residents opposition, pressure from the provincial government to be included as a tenant in the revamped bc place stadium after the 2010 olympics and the city government blocking off kerfoot's plans to build condos on the land he owned around the proposed stadium, the group backed off the plan- it really was not a good site- the wind and rain blowing in off the inlet would have made for a lousy fan experience in the spring and fall seasons

aside from turf, the stadium is a great fan experience

the vision for the club is to be a successful small club on a modest budget, be competitive in MLS and canadian competitions, develop youth for the first team and sell those who can bring some money and stay at BC Place stadium at least until the next decade; i dont see them wanting to compete for DPs like montreal, LA, seattle, NYCFC, Orlando and TFC- personally, i think it is a small vision in a great market that could take it to the level of seattle= certainly attendances to fill the lower bowl are very possible- can we be competitive in the coming years with that vision?? not convinced any team can as there is a separation between clubs whose owners will buy BIG and clubs whose owners will want to keep it modest- parity could be gone in a few years IMO

I wouldn't write off parity for dead. Of the top 5 spenders, two didn't make the playoffs, and two went out in the wildcard round. The two lowest ones are still alive--and are the 1 seeds in each conference.

for now, you are exactly right- both dallas and NYRB have the lowest player salary budget and yet were the top 2 teams in MLS- i more concerned that we are heading down a path that will lead to disparity, something akin to the EPL, bundesliga, spain division 1- the Decision Day drama was scintillating and i truly hope this parity will be a MLS trademark for many years to come- just not sure it will- and that's the rub
