Judging by this post your standards are so low you must think my post holds all the secrets of the universe encypted in a code you can't comprehend, and in awe you're starting a church to worship me as a god. Fun fact: Turns out I was right though; it has in fact been confirmed that he was indeed serious. I guess my post was spot on, but I wouldn't say it was great. You don't need to be great to understand basic things.
Over two years, Bob has had a pretty successful run at the club. The club was good for Bob in terms of the opportunity and experience, and Bob was good for the club by most measuring sticks of managers. If he chooses to move on this year, I'll remember his time in Norway fondly and continue to pull for Stabaek to win and occasionally play as them in FIFA. Why can't everyone just get along
No, he did not steer us down. He tok a job no one else wanted starting the season with 6 players in the squad and no money what so ever. He was never gonna survive in league. Second season, turning tings around, rebuilding the squad, turning the mindset of a bunch of disillusioned young players, giving them confidence, composing an interesting team with lots of talent, winning a promotion. In retrospect probably one of the best seasons in the clubs history. Did not look that way at the time, becasue the football they played wasn't all that great. So looking back at it now, a couple of years later, I do not think we gave Belsvik enough credit for that season. He was heavily critizised along the way, even booing from the supporter stand, which is quite unheard of in Stabæk (however not incommon elsewere). Sums up your post rather nicely.
Did he lose his motivation because Bob didn't give him a chance, or did Bob not give him a chance because he lacked motivation?
Or, at least 1/3 of the truth. There are three sides to every story, remember: "Yours", "mine" and the truth. Even if you're standing in the middle of something, you can't be completely aware of everyone else's point of view. Nobody's perfect. I don't claim to know the whole truth either, by the way, or nearly as much of it as Bob does for that matter. But I do know some things of which not even Bob is aware. I'm sure he wouldn't even agree with all of them if he was - because if he did, they probably wouldn't have happened in the first place. That does not make them less real, however, that just makes them part of someone else's side of the story, which is equally valid. This path only leads to the dark side. At least for now, I will simply end with this: I am much more happy this year than the last, and if you look back I don't think you will find that @@ringo or I have complained much about Bob this season.
As a history professor of mine said when a student indicated she was in class to learn the truth; "if you're looking for truth, take philosophy."
Do you ever NOT regret reading BigSoccer when your family comes up? I can't see how you do it, I'm sure I'd wanna choke some people.
And as I posted before, there was nothing in his past that indicated he could perform competently at the top division, yet Ringo still tried to pass him off as an example of Bob's "wasting of resources". It seems like you guys have set up a no win situation for Bob. If the team struggles without him next season, it'll be because he set them up for failure. If they do great without him, it means he wasn't that great anyway.
That's a lot of gibberish. No coach is universally liked. Not by fans, players, media. But great coaches can't concern themselves with popularity. They concern themselves with leading a group of men. It's been a great season. Hopefully we've got four more points in us.
He was a regarded as a very talented teenager and signed by Heerenveen when he was only 19-20 years. I believe he struggled with injuries setting him back though, and for that reason things didn't work out in the Netherlands. He was not a nobody; he was a promising prospect that had a bit of misfortune and needed a reboot. When he got that in Stabæk, he proved he had the potential to be a very effective fullback with his great left foot. I don't know too much about his past but I do know how he played for Stabæk. And I do know that he was the only leftback we had after young prospect Lange was sent away. The wasting of resources is not only not using Timmi Johansen, our most efficient player the previous season, it's also the consequences that follow. Trondsen is 5th in the league in assists this season as an attacking midfielder - despite playing for a very weak team that effectively played without a proper striker for the better part of the season. In comparison, he had 0 assists playing as a fullback for Stabæk last year - he simply did not function as a fullback, not in defence and not in attack. We did not only waste Johansen, we gave away one of our top prospects, Trondsen as well as a consequence. That's two key players wasted for nothing in return. That's wasteful resource managment. Of course, it means nothing to a coach who only stays for two years but it hurts the club.
It's a bit of a mystery to me how when a player does not work out "Bob has wasted the resources." However, if one does "the Sporting Director becomes the MVP." This is a truly inside narrative that certainly only a few are privy to.
Bob didn't rate Tronsden as an attacking midfielder. Saw him as a fullback. That's a football decision and Tronsden let the club know he wanted out. So be it. Without Tronsden as its attacking midfielder, Stabaek were contending for league and cup titles. But the club felt it was more important to sell Dio. That's life, as well.
Danish Newspaper: Bob Bradley Leaves Stabaek, Ready for New Club The Stabaek Coach Has Come to an Agreement with the French Ligue 2 club Le Havre http://www.adressa.no/100Sport/fotball/eliteserien/article629088.snd They make it sound as a done deal.
Yupp, However, We've not really been contending for the leauge title, RBK have had that in their back pocket since preseason. But we have been close enough to dream Besides, who knows, with Trondsen in midfield we could have been even closer... The notion that Trondsen would make a better fullback than midfielder is such an obvious mistake that I find it hard to believe that someone of Bobs experience would make it. And about beeing anonymous try googling @Ringo Stabæk
http://www.onceametro.com/2015/11/1...ey-agrees-terms-with-le-havre-ligue-2-stabaek Danish outlet BT is reporting Bob Bradley - once a Metro - has agreed terms with French club Le Havre, reportedly signing a contract to coach to the Ligue 2 outfit for one-and-a-half seasons. BT reports this rules Bradley out of the running to replace Denmark national team head coach Morten Olsen, and that the American also turned down Heerenven, 1860 Munich and Molde in favor of a move to France. Bradley is the hot coaching prospect of the moment, and has been linked to English clubs Sunderland and Aston Villa. Indeed, it was starting to feel as though any club or national team with a vacancy was a candidate for his services. Le Havre has yet to confirm the report, which broke in Denmark on Saturday but has been slow to gain great traction with other outlets. Bradley has become a darling of the rumor mill since his current contract - with Norwegian club Stabaek - neared its end and it became clear he was not minded to renew. The coach himself has occasionally spoken out to dismiss a rumor or two, though he has also made clear he has options to consider. Expect to hear this latest story quashed or confirmed shortly. And for those who speak Danish, havre at it. http://www.nettavisen.no/sport/fotball/dansk-avis---bob-bradley-har-fatt-ny-jobb/3423153911.html
