I was thinking the same thing. Gerrard, Gio, Keane, not to mention Zardes, etc. and they can't do any better than that?
The fix is on at the Home Depot Center, contact FIFA....oh wait, they are corrupt too & are probably getting some money too - wouldn't be a surprised if this was a Gentleman's agreement w/ Porter & Arena
Ok, there's one back. Let's have another, you disgusting, filthy, awful Scum. Edit: Just can't do anything right tonight. Another Portlandia goal.
It's like they're trying to screw us over. Hopefully they drop to a wild card spot and get knocked out.
Have I mentioned that I hate LA? So we have little chance of seeing a playoff game. Don't know quite how I feel about that.
Well, we were gifted that 4-game homestand against beatable teams. We dropped it. It's on us. If Portland made it over us, I wouldn't be mad. When their must-win game came, they took full advantage of it. 5 goals on the road after being down 1, gotta pop my hats to them.
Wouldn't quite put it that way. They had plenty of motivation to lock up the 2nd seed. No one wants to be the 3rd or 4th seed that gets knocked out in a sudden death match by the last-seeded teams.
I am not a conspiracy theorist type, but man, what is the likelihood that the Gals would give up 5 goals in 30 minutes or so, at home!? What the heck?
The Portland goal differential no longer plays into it. If they lose, and the Quakes win the next game (required for the two teams to tie on points), I'm pretty sure that the Quakes goal differential won't get worse while Portland's gets better :--).
If they were playing for a spot or if they were in fact playing for something how could they lose by this many? I can't ever remember LA losing conceding 5 goals at home.
It's wrong to want LA to win. I was hurting when the timbers scored the PK and then I felt good on the other goals because even if I love my 'Quakes, they don't deserve to get in on a scum win.
I dunno -- I don't recall lots of Mexicans beating their breasts and rending their garments when they got into WC14 on the basis of a US win...
Absolutely unbelievable result with the lineup LA is able to put on the field. Omar Gonzalez way off his game. At least there's slim hope left...
One silver lining to LA losing: Dallas has clinched home field in the West and will know by game time if they have been eliminated from Supporters' Shield contention as the Red Bulls visit the woeful Fire earlier. It's conceivable they'll have nothing to play for. We're going to need the full 3 points, because even though we own both tiebreakers, KC is unlikely to lose twice, and Seattle is unlikely to lose at home to RSL. If either team draws its remaining games, we are in with a win. Unfortunately we won't know the results for any of our 3 competitors at kickoff.
