Kyle Reynish sits on the bench as a substitute goalkeeper and makes 43.3 percent more than Mike Grella.

That's the difference between someone who is a veteran of the league and NASL Golden Glove in 2013, and one who has bumped around the minor leagues here and in England and is something of a wildcard. Salaries are always set based on past performance and reputation.

There's no doubt Miazga has been our best defender but he's making about 3/5 that of Perinnelle and less 1/4 that of Ronald Zubar. That's because coming into the season Miazga had only started a handful of games as a professional and the other two were veterans professionals of a competitive French 2nd division.

There's really nothing on there to be all that upset about. Zubar hasn't played to his salary but there's only so much you can do about injuries. We don't have any real headscratchers like we have in past years with guys like Convey or Eckersley

The only one really is Roy Miller but is balanced out by the likes of Miazga, Grella, Lawrence.

I think at the end of the year there will be a good bit more player movement, like Miller getting traded, anywhere. And there will be the true up of some salaries, Miazga, I hope. And probably next year when the salary list comes out we'll still be nitpicking over how some players are getting too much or not enough. You have to wonder what happens to Veron's salary over the next couple of years, there's no way he's stays this cheap.

Gonna be tough to trade Miller with that salary, especially with his minutes played this year. Not sure what his contract status is but most likely scenario is that they tell him to restructure or get cut.

Is Veron considered a DP next year with this low salary?

Almost definitely since his transfer fee was around $2M. That gets split out over the course of his contract and added to salary as his actual cap hit.

Aha, so that's how that works.
