Chad Marshall had some kind of a head injury at practice today. With his history of concussions, I wouldn't be surprised if he is out for this game. http://www.seattletimes.com/sports/...e-in-ambulance-following-head-or-neck-injury/
We'll clinch a playoff berth with a win yet still need help to ensure a home Cup Final if we get there. We just have to take care of our end and F'n WIN!
Did anyone else notice these shit numbers. Sunday MLS Ratings: SKC/Seattle (ESPN) 5:00 PM 278k; San Jose/RSL (FS1) 7:00 PM 76k; 46k on FOXD Galaxy/Dallas (FS1) 9:30 PM 108k; 78k on FOXD Wow, according to sources MLS ratings have dropped 50% since NFL started earlier this month. The Galaxy v FC Dallas game went head to head with (Ravens and Steelers) and look at those numbers.... tragically devastating. This week they go up against the (Saints and Cowboys). For Garber and the ESPN/Fox network execs to schedule games on Sunday directly against NFL is suicide. This week's game could unveil the saddest stat of all time. 45,000+ at the stadium in Seattle, but less than that watching on Fox sports / Fox deportes who claims a viewership capacity of over 200 million homes in North America.
Another reason, besides my own selfish ones, for making Saturday night MLS night...or at least once 'football' starts up. We haven't had a Saturday night game since Montreal visited. I assume all if not most of playoff matches will be on Sunday again, too.
I don't think Saturday will ever be a big night in the fall for MLS soccer. Everything is geared up for College Football, wheresas there is a lot of vacant channel capacity on Sunday night.
Yeah, with Keane, the issue is basically not to let him play hurt, because he would. He does the travel thing for Ireland, but it's because he wants to play those games AND get right back in and play 90 for the Galaxy. He wants to be on the field every second that he can.
Was he, though? I remember some of us were questioning the validity of the 'knock in practice' but, feeling it didn't really matter since we'd rather he didn't pick up a worse injury before the playoffs. I'm pretty certain he'll play. This just brought back that memory for me.
I'm pretty sure to prevent Robbie from playing Bruce basically has to sit on him. He's not the type to skip any second of footy.
Big game. Of course, it's been "big game" time for the past month. It's actually a good test. We'll find out more about where the team is at. The only person more curious than us is probably Bruce.
