I think it is pretty smart of Fox to put a rebroadcast of a Bayern match right before the big Manchester- Juventus match on FS2. Great way to promote the Bundesliga and a great way for fans to pass time waiting for the match to start.
The Bayern Munich vs Ausberg match got 40,000 viewers on FS1 on Saturday. There seemed to be too much competition between college football preview shows and Premier League for the match to do very well. That is a decline from previous FS1 Bayern matches. http://sportstvratings.com/oklahoma...e-sports-for-saturday-september-12-2015/3522/

FS1 opted to go with Ross Dyer calling the match off the monitor today rather than Alan Fountain on the international feed for Mainz v Hoffenheim. FS2Go for me.
I used to listen Fountain years ago and thought he was excellent. After hearing him twice this year, I still think he has a great voice but actually just talks nonsense. It looks like Fox has gone bein on us. The countdown to Russia 2018 has begun.
I'll use this shift in announcers to repeat my mantra about US football coverage: consistently inconsistent. When things are going well, why stick with it when there are options to make things worse.
This weekend, 4 of the 5 live Bundesliga time slot matches are on Fox Sports 2. For those with Verizon FIOS, Fox Sports 2 HD has been added (ch 584). Currently, the FIOS on-screen guide for FS2HD is in Spanish, featuring shows that indicate it is Fox Sports programming, but including soccer from Italy, Argentina, and Belgium, as well as Euro League Beach Soccer, in addition to more familiar Fox Sports fare like Bundesliga and UEFA Champions League. I wonder what country these listings belong to.....reminiscent of beIN's recent problems with their TV Guide on their site. However, rest assured that the added station on channel 584 is FS2 HD.
Just started the Hoffenheim-Dortmund game. Great to hear Derek Rae on the call. He's truly top class because of his work effort when it comes to researching players, leagues, and national teams. The only negative thing I could say about him is that he somehow got suckered into calling games with a US accent back in the day. This forum's own DJ Power seems to agree:
Nice. For some reason Bayern vs Dortmund on Sunday, October 4 is scheduled on FS2 at 11:30 AM. I will try to watch as much of that as possible now that I have it in HD. That will be a great day of soccer - Everton v Liverpool, Swansea v Tottenham, Man United v Arsenal and Atletico vs Real Madrid are also on that day.

There was some sort of nonsense car racing going on when I flipped it on. Probably had a rain delay or something like that.
Certainly do agree, ESPN Australia was fun and alive back then and they certainly put effort in, now ESPN / ESPN2 is mainly a simulcast of the US stations with local commercials inserted. BeIN Sports has picked up all the European rights apart from EPL which is still on Fox. I think Fox will keep EPL because it seems like the only European league that shows up on the ratings report. Interesting that Fox in the US is taking BT Sports feed with Derek Rae I thought they only did that with SKY as they share common ownership. Still have very fond memories of Derek Rae and Tommy Smyth commentary and Press Pass duties
No, it said it was moved to FoxSportsGo or whatever it's called so why did they take if off the air? there wasn't a delay.
It seems that the big derby on Sunday will be relegated to FS2, which is totally stupid if you are trying to grow the league's popularity. I read somewhere that the game is getting bumped by a prerace show with the sidenote that the actual race is not airing on Fox. Not sure if true but that is what I read, and if true, it is a shame.
Yup they are apparently airing a 90min preview show in the 11:30 timeslot, for a race that's being carried by NBCSN Definitely one for the stupidity thread if true
FS1 NASCAR Raceday gets about 5x the ratings that Bundesliga does. And that's being a bit generous to the Bundesliga.
ESPN airs NFL Countdown before games taking place on FOX, CBS and NBC -- they're not yanking that off the air. Networks will show what draws the most flies.
If fox wants to grow the bls popularity this is an absolutely stupid decision. Sure a nascar show can draw eyeballs, but what about the potential eyes that can be drawn to future matches.
