PBP: San Jose Earthquakes - Real Salt Lake (Sunday, 9/27) in-game thread [R]

Worst attendance I've seen all season for one of the most critical games. Ultras section is empty.

 

Even the Ultra section is pretty thin

 

One thing that bodes well for us is that Javi Morales is out with a hip Pointer.

Strange that JJK is the player card insert today.

 

I prefer 4:00 games that start at 4:00.

 

Poor Allen, Francis and Salinas have hard fouled him twice in the first minute of the game.

 

So they can give out metal water bottles pre-game, but not bobbleheads?

 

I prefer they show the soccer game when they have a soccer game.

 

3 minutes in and the Quakes are looking more chippy than skillful.

 

Nice to hear Lalas say on the broadcast that Alashe was his No. 1 choice for the "24 under 24" list. Not that I should care what Lalas thinks, but it's great to see Fatai get some press.

 

Pelosi was in a bad place and Salinas couldn't drop the ball to him for a shot.

 

Salinas must have some serious speed to be offside on that play. He got the ball 20 yards onside.

 

That was a slick series of touches from the Muma cross.

 

Was that Amarikwa's first pass? Nice. Do that again. Don't keep dribbling and losing the ball.

 

Not a good cross from Wondolowski. But the Quakes are looking more offensive these last 5 minutes.

 

& this crappy team is going to make the postseason? Are we kidding ourselves?

 

How many times have we seen lose balls bouncing around in front of goal but not go in in the last month?

 

This is the result of setting low standards.

 

Even if they make it, they will embarrass themselves. May as well play the youngsters.

 

They are already playing Pelosi and Alashe. You really think Matheus Silva deserves a start, even if they gave up?

 

I don't know but these guys certainly aren't cutting it. Even Shea can't catch a break.

 

They are starting to look confident.
