If I were bein I would maybe look into doing a whip around thing like nfl redzone. Im not the biggest fan of things like that, but with so many games going on I would do it to satisfy fans of every league.
I'd be pretty amazed to see The Football League (and League Cup) purchased by any other network. Maybe ESPN for ESPN3 (and the odd Cup tie on ESPN2). Contract works pretty well for beIN. They get some early morning and stream fodder + a chance to show Premier League clubs in the later Cup rounds.
The contract started with the 2012/13 season. What I can't find is the length of the contract. Most rights (especially at that time) were sold for a 3-year cycle which would mean that this season is a new contract. We didn't see any announcement of a renewal (then again, beIN barely gave us info on their La Liga, Serie A and Ligue-1 renewals). If its a 4-year contract (and really haven't seen these but rather 3, 5 and 6 years) then this is the last season. If anybody can find the contract length, please post it here because we know for sure it started with the 2012/13 season. SA www.soccertvblog.com
The beIN schedule (on the app) shows Tottenham-Arsenal on beIN English followed by Celta-Barcelona on three-hour delay. The Spanish schedule hasn't been updated but I assume this means that beIN Ñ will show Athletic-Real Madrid live. Barcelona relegated to connect! Will the world explode? This is for Wednesday, September 23 btw.
My assumption may be wrong given that Barca plays at 2 eastern, Madrid plays at 3 eastern and there are other games at 4 (las palmas-Sevilla and Malaga-Villarreal). Showing Barca live would allow them to show one of the 4 pm games live too, so the smarter move would be to show Barca live rather than Madrid. Also showing Madrid after the North London derby would be a two-hour delay rather than a three-hour delay for Barca. Let's see what they finally do.
With Barcelona kicking off an hour before Real Madrid, I think we'll see the first half of the Barca match, followed by a simulcast of both matches (back and forth with occasional split screen) and finally the second half of the Real Madrid match. I hope they are smart enough to put each match on a streaming channel so people can watch either match uninterrupted as well.... SA www.soccertvblog.com
So if you go to the BEIN Sports USA you can see and scroll down a little bit you see 2 cover photos claiming they have the Europa League and that they showed the Liverpool and Fiorentina game on BEIN Sports and a bunch of other major games on Connect. How is this possible??
beINSport did show the game - in France! I was told by someone at beIN last year that their TV guide and websites are handled by a 3rd party. They are suppose to make sure that the different regions get correct versions of the website. Sometimes they screw up... SA www.soccertvblog.com
Check out Sunday's schedule on beIN3. 8:45 am - 9:45 am Atalanta v. Hellas Verona (live) 9:45 am - 12:00 pm Deportivo La Coruna v. Sporting Gijon (live) unless they're planning to show only the first half of the 9 am game, somethings wrong here.
This makes perfect sense. Somehow these guys in Qatar who have figured out how to create a network featuring leagues from all over the world, and mirror that move in France, decided to trust a guy from Miami that was doing all kinds of screwy things with Gol TV (most notably 90 in 60). So, BeIN USA is third rate when one compares to BeIN in the Middle East or France and then that foolishness extends to how the Web site is listed. Last week they couldn't even bother to showcase one of their top international packages: WCQ. Instead, we had TV listings for league matches on-screen and on the website. And they didn't even bother to show the WCQ games on delay that didn't air on the FIFA dates even though BeIN Connect provided opportunities to create full packages to transfer to air. Instead, they showed repeats of league games.
That's terrible and they replied to some guy asking where the game was to go to Bein 3, are they really that stupid?
Watching Bordeaux v Liverpool on BeIN they only made reference to the match being shown in Middle East / North Africa and Australia. BeIN Connect was streaming all games here although I beleive that BeIN Sports is still using the old Setanta site they acquired. They have started to set up the new site but of yet its not offically used and they only display the information of what is showing on the main tv channel and have no information of what is being shown on Connect http://www.beinsports.com/au/tv-guide
The schedule for beINSport-ñ next week is out. Looks like I was right in their treatment of the Barcelona and Real Madrid matches that start at 2pm & 3pm respectively. The on-screen guide has the Barcelona match scheduled from 2pm to 4pm followed by the Real Madrid match from 4pm to 5pm. In addition, they are showing the Real Madrid match from the start on their streaming service (beIN-9). So expect a lot of back and forth and split screen from 3pm to 4pm. beINSport-1 will indeed go with Tottenham v Arsenal live at 2:45pm ET. Celta v Barcelona will be aired at 5pm and Bilbao v Real Madrid at 8pm. Full schedule now up at http://soccertvblog.com/spain-tv/ (France & Italy updated as well). SA www.soccertvblog.com
I'm confused on what is happening, Since BeIN changed connect websites, I can't watch anything on them. I downloaded silverlight, and on firefox and IE it won't show anything. On my android phone, I can't watch anything. This has been going on like 4 weeks. Ridiculous. Fix this crap, Bein.
Just curious if anyone knows why Real Madrid game is scheduled for 3 pm and not 4 pm? It's just sandwiched between the rest of the games.
beIN is actually showing Carpi-Fiorentina on beIN7 even though the guide lists it as Bologna-Frosinone (which was at 9 eastern). Amateur hour.
I have to say this is pretty bad. I tried logging on via laptop, Android phone and Ipad. None of them are working at all.
And you would think that they would switch to another game when the score gets lopsided with 30 other games they could have shown
The absurdity of Bein stockpiling all these rights is certainly highlighted on nights like these....two TV channels and ten iffy streams doesn't really cut it when you have 30-odd games kicking off at the same time
