Montreal make coaching change: Klopas out, Biello takes over as interim Lampard responds to critical comments by Kreis after latest NYCFC loss Giovinco's Italy call-up "a global benchmark" for MLS, say Toronto FC
SKC looking vulnerable. Vermes blaming the refs for his team's last 2 losses. Having trouble dealing with a little adversity there Petey?
SAT question for you all. Things that coaches say when their team loses. Which of the 4 below is not like the others? And also, which of the four would you like to be your head coach?
Among Sigi, Bruce, Peter and Caleb, I don't know who takes the crown as the biggest whiner. It's always someone else's fault with those guys.
I've been very impressed with the way that Dom has handled losses this year. He seems to have a level of maturity that maybe he didn't when he left here in 2006. I mean he's had plenty of opportunity to blow a gasket, with that massive losing / winless streak. That comment about refs "trying to do a good job" and we shouldn't focus too much on the refs, that was after the Quakes brutal last minute loss to Portland, and there were some big calls or non-calls that didn't go the Quakes way (especially the no-call on the TT takedown in the box late in the game). I mean he had every right to be pissed after the game, and yet he's talking about how the refs are trying to do a good job and not complaining. I think that has actually contributed ultimately to the Quakes turnaround because they kept grinding and didn't blame anyone and just continued to focus on getting better. Then they did get better, and their luck got better, and everything turned the other way.
http://www.bizjournals.com/sanfranc...h-american-soccer-league-mls-earthquakes.html As I posted in the NASL expansion news thread, why the big secret? If a potential ownership group is interested, why is it such a big deal to not name a name? Never understood that line of thinking. You go Peterson! Gotta love this guy even though he is full of crap!
Falco, why post this article from mar-2015? With the head of NASL under house arrest for the FIFA scandal, I wouldn't be surprised if the league folds. The lawsuit they are filing is just a last-gasp desperate measure to get in the back door of MLS. By that, I mean it seems they are trying to create an NFL-AFL situation hoping MLS would eventually absorb them.
I didn't realize it was from back that far as I got it from the NASL thread. Anyway, my main point is, supposedly, the NASL is serious as of late about expansion into SF. It remains to be seen if it will happen though.
Back in March they said they could make a decision in a couple of months. In light of what MJ posted, my guess is that any potential investors have cold feet now.
Supposedly, the latest rumors are that they are serious about the NASL in SF but commissioner Bill Peterson seems to talk a lot so who knows.
I am sure the NASL would love to have a team in SF, but, getting investors and finding a place to play is a whole different ball game.
Thx G, It's not me, it's my iOS auto-correct. Sorry, Falco I mean Falvo (as an example, I click on Falvo, and it asks me to replace with Falco, Salvo, and Faldo).
Drogba looks like a man amongst boys out there. He treats the defender like a ragdoll on the first goal and on the third goal manages to get blistering speed off of a side footed volley.
