Tuesday was woeful. Wasn't gonna go but ended up being talked into it. Antonio's first goal made amends for an utterly horrendous night. Dougie seems pretty clueless ATM. Fifth straight home defeat under him now. Defence all over the place, midfield non existent and a lone striker isolated up top. I'd fancy Rotherham to beat us tomorrow in all honesty, it'd be typical of how we are currently performing now which has followed from last season. Walker is getting like Osborn last year. Comes on, finishes as one of our best players on pitch. Will become undroppable if some others don't buck up their ideas.
Yeah I went. With no disrespect to Rotherham, with the run we have been on including last season, this game was a gift home game to help us get back on track. One you'd expect to win over the course of 46 games. First half we were poor, and Rotherham punished us early on. De Vries a bit suspect on the corner, came to claim it and allowed Collins a bit of a free header. He celebrated it in front of us as well - can't blame him as he has had a fair amount of stick off us. Then we struggled to retain possession and get out of our own half! I'm glad we scored when we did because they'd have been booed off - no two ways about it. Halford and Collins were Rotherhams CBs and when they used to play for Forest, they were a decent unit but were poor in the air. It was no surprise our first goal came from a header from Mills. There are ready made goal in him this season - great we might be able to make more of our set pieces than previous years! Second half was completely different. We were much better with the ball and bombarded Rotherham - eventually getting our reward with a fortunate goal! Could've had a third from a long range Mancienne strike - who was probably the best player on the pitch at LB. I think Rotherham as a team will struggle this season but there is enough experience throughout to give it a go. The squad does miss Pringle - who I've always thought was the stand out player. The defence will come good - I doubt Collins will last the season but everyone else looked OK. Halfords versatility will be a huge asset in the long run. I saw a few calling Roos yday. Definitely could've done better with our winner, but he's a young GK needing games at this level - Evans would've known this risk when he signed him. Anyways, a good 3 points for us - hope we can kick on against Charlton on Tuesday.
6:30am or so for pre match hoopla and a 7am kickoff. So not too bad. I got a sub to Forest Player last season when I started following the club and did it again this year. The interviews with DF alone are worth it. Love how candid the guy is.
Still new to following the sport, on my second season. Before last summer, 4-5-1 meant the second basemen through the ball to third who then threw to the pitcher covering a base to get an out!
Starting XI DeVries, Lichaj, Mills, Hobbs, Pinillos, Mancienne, Antonio, Ebecilio, Osborn, Lansbury (c), Walker
A flurry of Forest signings. I have no idea if these players are going to have an impact, hope they do!
