I'm surprised the brand who gave that one Brugge player orange shoes hasn't demanded for him to take them off yet, this guy is a walking anti-commercial. Has given every ball to a Manchester player so far.

Do you actually have any data to back that up that the PL is more "physically demanding" than other leagues or is that only a gut feeling that you have?

I am asking because I remember that some users here in the fifa forums were sure that Germany must be doping in the WC 2014 because the players where just running much more than other teams. I looked it up and they where actually covering less distance than what gets covered in the average Bundesliga game. Perception and gut feeling can be somewhat false in that regard, so anything to back that up?

Also I watched a recording of some CL game last season online and the english commentators kept going on about fouls that would be "normal hard physicality" in the Bundesliga that just doesn't fly in the CL, while commentators in Germany generally go on about the normal hard physicality in the PL that doesn't fly in the Bundesliga. I think most of those kinds of arguments aren't based on facts at all.

They had a lot of injuries in fairness to them, and United are not a that horrible team ;)

De Bruyne for over 70 mil. Euro to ManCity and Son (Leverkusen) to Tottenham from over 30 mil. Euro.

Bale and James will look like regular transfers when Manchester United signs Hoffenheim's Jonathan Schmid for 110 mil. Euro.

Looking forward to the draw. Despite being kind of insulted we are in pot 2, I like what UEFA is trying to do here. I wish they would allow you to play teams from your own country though, might be interesting. Its a high risk/reward scenario though

I'd like us to get PSV/Olympiacos/Gent. I think our group will be Chelsea/Roma/Maccabi Tel Aiv. Would like to stay away from Bayern/juve in the first pot but really nobody else in pot 3/4 concerns me. No matter whom we draw we should progress.

Amazing how overinflated the transfer market is nowadays. De Bruyne could pan out for the price (hell any player could but it's highly unlikely). Son should have stayed at Leverkusen. Probably has a higher chance of winning silverware there.

De Bruyne is highly overrated. Bundesliga isn't any good apart from Bayern. Watch how their teams get pushed around in the CL

De Bruyne had a hard time at Chelsea and was sold, i wonder how he will fare on his second attempt. Spending 70 million on a player that already has proven to struggle in the PL is always a good investment right?

To be fair they never gave him much playing time, but this formula always happens with City. They go nuts on transfers and their fans all of a sudden think they'll be competitive in the CL. Last season Bayern could have ko'd them in Group Stages but they took their foot off the pedal

80me is steep but thats whats going for players like De Bruyne and James nowadays.

De Bruyne is definitely nice though. 16 goals and 28 assists last season in all competitions.

He must not want to win CL though going to Man City.

The 3-0 Chelsea vs Man City game should have happened after this purchase though just for the lols.

The reason why James was that expensive is because he was the up and coming star of the world cup, with a fresh Adidas contract signed promoting him next to guys like Messi, Suarez and Benzema.

De Bruyne is a player who admitted that he hates living in Germany so obviously he'd jump ship as soon as something else came along. Of course he's nice, and to me he was actually the best Bundesliga player last season, but 80 mil. Euro is not a good investment.

Come on. MU offered 120ME for Bale and I read rumors we rejected MC 100ME offer for James.
These high prices were set by us and Barca after Neymar/Bale contracts.

Lol, De Bruyne is arguably a better footballer than Benzema now (I say arguably as to not incite a riot), and is certainly a better investment going forward (he's 4 years younger). The majority here are clamoring that Arsenal's generous offer for Karim isn't enough, but now somehow City are overpaying for KDB?

Not sure a good season in the Buli makes De Bruyne a better player than Benz, arguably or not.

The difference is that the alternatives for Benzema's position on the top level are slim, while attacking midfielders of different varieties are pretty much the player that is always on the market nowadays. Next season it will be Calhanoglu for a similar amount, the high quality alternatives in Europe in that position are at the highest they've been for a very long time.

Benzema is the most important French player right now by far as far as interest goes, with Pogba being second probably. De Bruyne is in Hazard's shadow.

Again, Benzema is a global star, Kevin from Wolfsburg isn't. When you put a transfer fee together a lot of factors play a role, not just the performance.
