I'm heading up to bed but I will check in every 20mins or so for the next 90mins so it should round the turn quite quickly.

Last pick yesterday was at 6:48 pm eastern / 3:48 pm pacific. Window opens today at these times. Still no sign of Lampard or Gerrard being added back in, so I guess no moves for me and I'll have to settle for watching them face off in a few weeks at the Hub. I created a thread in the FPL forum where any transfers can be posted. Allowed me to synchronize my watch... I've made my standard post-draft adjustments to the GDoc. 1. Updated Rosters -- I created a duplicate of the drafted teams page, called updated rosters. This is where we will update rosters throughout the season. When you make transfers, it is helpful if you use the "fill in" function to highlight the new players. After they've been in for a week or two, the highlighting can be removed, and it is a nice way to get a quick look at who has been acquired recently. Many don't use it, but there is a date function for each owner, and the idea was to know that the team is current as of that date. They currently all read 7/31/15. 2. Trades -- I moved over the new sheet for trades starting now, leading into GW1. In addition to adding your player on the updated rosters team sheet, please add your player here. If we keep this current, it is a quick, easy way to see the trades without having to go through the weekly threads on the FPL site. You can use it to track a player who has been traded out of a team, and once you've identified when he was traded out, you're only looking for trades in after that to confirm he is available. I think the format is self-explanatory. Once it gets too long (around 100 trades), we'll start a new one. 3. Players Owned -- You cannot make any changes to this page; it is locked. This page lists in a different format all of the players owned by all the teams in the league. NOTE: It brings in this information from the Updated Rosters page, so it is only accurate if the Updated Rosters page is accurate. While you can't make changes on this page, you can copy and paste all of this information into your own Excel spreadsheet, and then you can sort by position or by BPL team, and I've found the latter in particular to be an effective way to scour the field to see who is available. 4. League Table -- Just for fun, and I probably won't do it every week, but I'll take occasional snapshots of the table so we can see how the season has evolved. The sheets that are currently active will always be on the furthest to the left. The three sheets we used during the draft have been shifted to the right. They remain there, but no further changes should be made to them. Also, I took the FPL Roster list that we color coded during the draft, and I made a copy of it and sorted it by VSR team if you want to take a different look at it. Let me know if anyone has any questions or suggestions. Again, we should be looking for everyone to update TWO pages when they make a transfer -- to put it on the "Trades" page and the "Updated Roster" page, with highlighting. If you don't intend to participate, please let everyone know. If you are posting in the FPL forum but won't be able to get to the GDoc in a reasonable amount of time to update, please ask if others can help you out. If everyone is in, I think it's reasonable to expect that we can rely on the GDoc and the current week's FPL thread, which is where we would post any trades, as an accurate list of who is owned.
Great job blech. Above and beyond. Thanks. Last year we had an issue over which forum was the ultimate last word if there is a dispute. Will that be the FPL league board or the Google doc.?
Thanks. To avoid any confusion on the "final word" piece of it, the way I'm thinking about it is as follows: 1. The FPL league board controls as has always been the case. Entries in those thread get a time stamp and that will always resolve any dispute if two owners are trying to make a move in close proximity to each other. Nothing about that changes. And, you don't, for example, somehow lose player "X" if you pick him up on the FPL thread but forget to add him on the GDoc (although I'm not opposed to such a rule change....). 2. BUT, we all should be able to rely on the GDoc if everyone is participating, and not be penalized if any one of us makes a move because the GDoc is wrong. As I'm thinking about it (proposing it), if player "X" gets picked up 3 weeks ago but doesn't get into the GDoc for whatever reason, and then you or I or anyone else pick up player "X" relying on the GDoc that doesn't show him on another team, you don't get to keep player "X" since he actually is on another team, but you shouldn't be penalized by losing points and we should adjust the points to allow you to unwind the transaction once it is spotted, i.e., if you just unwind the transfer and end up with a 4 point penalty, we'll add 4 points to your season total manually, and if you unwind the transfer and then make a different transfer that week (or in the next week that would have been a free carryover) which would have otherwise been you're one free transfer, we'd adjust for that too. In terms of keeping the GDoc "current", the goal should be that it will be updated by the end of a given GW. It's easiest to just do it right away or ask others to do it right away, but at least get it in by the end of the GW. If we are always that current, then we only have to look two places -- the GDoc and the current week's thread on the FPL site, which is where we will be going to post the trade anyway. In the end, as serious as most of us are about this, we're playing for fun. This seems a reasonable compromise for me, and how I'll vote if the issue ever arises. The first three post-draft moves have been added.
Are we keeping this forum for season -long chat and gibberish or will there be another one created for the actual season?
Might use the 2-3-5 gimmick this week... or my wildcard. Apparently Baines is seriously injured and needs surgery on his ankle
I created a new thread for season-long talk, complaining and philosophizin' http://forums.bigsoccer.com/threads/vsr-2015-16-chat-and-gibberish-thread.2023716/
