This team is god awful without Nogueira. However, their coach has done well to make Curtin look like a genius so far this year. So...tie.
Feel like we have gotten our breaks with Red Bull already this year, time for some regression to the mean. And the Union mean ain't good.
That's what I was wondering. I know they said he still has to have his paperwork clear, but I don't know if that is finished. In addition, we still haven't cleared an Int'l spot, right? I'm on vacation so I haven't heard anything on that front. I'd assume that has to be completed before he could play?
As far as I knew he wasn't included to begin with: 1. Rais M'Bolhi - Algeria/France 2. Vincent Nogueira - France/Portugal 3. Fabio Alves - Brazil (Green Card coming soon) 4. Cristian Maidana - Argentina 5. Steven Vitoria - Canada/Portugal 6. Fernando Aristeguieta - Venezuela/Spain 7. Eric Ayuk Mbu - Cameroon 8. Traded to Houston I do know that Ayuk & Fabinho were close to green cards, but had not heard confirmation on either, yet.
Just caught up with Curtin, who said Barnetta will be an option to play Saturday but likely won't start. Depends on when his flight lands.— Dave Zeitlin (@DaveZeitlin) July 29, 2015 Saw this yesterday.
At least we'll have a free tail gate tomorrow. If we are lucky we'll pull out a draw. Red Bulls will be on fire after losing in the Cup.
Sylvestre is questionable with a hand injury. Given Curtin views this game as a must-win, he would likely go with local boy McCarthy over Blake given Blake's lack of playing time this season. Guessing Blake may see some playing time in the end of August friendly against Harrisburg City. It is ironic that Curtin and Albright were the ones who convinced Hackworth and Vartughian to move up and draft Blake yet he can not get any playing time under their regime.
Looking forward to going to the game today! Can't wait! Just hoping they put in a good, competitive game.
Must win? They need to rattle off 7 wins in their last 12 games for a even a chance at the playoffs. It's time to start preparing for next season.
Right. 34 ain't gonna do it. Revs are on pace for 42. The U average 1.54 ppg at home and 0.5 on the road. They've got 6 home and 6 away matches. To sneak in they'll have to win a few on the road and hold serve at home. With three of their last four away (NER,TFC,RBNY) and closing this steaming pile of a season with KaKa and Orlando(I'm not proud of the low hanging fruit, but whatever). Oh, and the U are 0-6-0 when Nogs doesn't start with a -10 goal differential. If that holds, L's today,OCSC an CHI. Plus the Cup. Just in case you were feeling unusually optimistic.
Is this game blacked out for anyone else on MLS Live? All I get is a message saying it's not available because it's on national or local TV, but there is no such broadcast in Boston.
